π΅πΈ|π€ Day 458 saw a significant escalation of violence in both Gaza and the West Bank.
β’ Gaza: Over 28 Palestinians were killed in Gaza. An Israeli drone strike on a school sheltering displaced people in Nuseirat injured more than 40. Another attack killed Dr. Tharabat Salim, a volunteer at al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital. In besieged northern Gaza, Hamas claimed an attack on two Israeli tanks in Jabalia; Israel reported two soldiers killed and two seriously injured, and also reported three rockets fired from northern Gaza hitting the Sderot settlement. Satellite images show Israel intensifying demolitions in southern Gaza βsafe zonesβ of al-Mawasi and Rafah. Three attacks on Rafah resulted in seven deaths, including two farmers killed while sleeping. Deadly attacks in Gaza City's Sheikh Radwan neighborhood saw an Israeli strike on a home killing 13 family members, and another attack killing four people, with bodies scattered in the street. Al-Awda Hospital, the last functioning hospital in northern Gaza under a 94-day siege, has 64 staff and 34 patients trapped without electricity.
β’ West Bank: A shooting operation near the Kedumim settlement in Funduq, Qalqilya, resulted in three Israeli deaths and eight injuries. In retaliation, Netanyahu approved additional military offensives and raids across the West Bank. A new bypass road with a permanent military presence is being installed near Funduq. Settlers blocked roads to Nablus, Qalqilya, Tulkarem, and Jenin, attacking Palestinian cars with rocks and setting them on fire, and raided villages. Palestinian Authority forces burned down homes in Jenin amid a siege and opened fire in Tulkarem, injuring three Palestinians.
β’ Other Incidents: Israeli forces fired 16 times at a clearly marked WFP truck carrying eight aid workers, despite having prior clearance.
