Narrated Abu Huraira: A black man or a black woman used to sweep the mosque and he or she died. The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked about her (or him). He was told that she (or he) had died. He said, "Why did you not inform me? Show me his grave (or her grave)." So he went to her (his) grave and offered her (his) funeral prayer." (Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol. 1, Book 8, Hadith 106)
Whatever position we have in life, our true rank is determined by what is in our hearts. Our beloved Prophet (SAW) elevated and honoured others and we should do the same. If someone in our community dies, we should pray for them, no matter what position in life they had because this world is temporary and the true abode is forever.
