🚨🇮🇱🇵🇸 — Israeli Defense Forces:
The IDF and ISA eliminated a Hamas Nukhba platoon commander who infiltrated Israel during the October 7th Massacre

Over the weekend (Friday), the IDF and ISA struck in the Nuseirat area in the central Gaza Strip and eliminated the terrorist Ibrahim Mustafa Suleiman Abu Oweimer, a Nukhba platoon commander in Hamas’ military wing.

The terrorist infiltrated Israeli territory during the October 7th Massacre.

Recently, the terrorist advanced attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians and operated to restore the terrorist organization's capabilities, in systematic violation of the ceasefire. The terrorist was eliminated in an aerial strike in order to remove the threat he posed.

Prior to the strike, steps were taken to mitigate harm to civilians, including the use of precise munitions and aerial surveillance.

IDF troops under the Southern Command are deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threat.

⚡️🇪🇸 — Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez:
Dear citizens, as you know, more than three years ago, the ballot boxes and the Congress of Deputies decided to bet once again on a progressive coalition government.

They did so so that Spain could continue advancing along the path of transformation, ambition, and social justice that has been pursued since 2018.

Achieving this has not been easy.

In this legislature, we have had to manage unprecedented emergencies, navigate a very difficult international conjuncture marked by unilateral decisions such as trade tensions, energy crises, and the return of wars in Europe and the Middle East.

We have also had to work with a very stubborn Congress in which, absurdly, many confuse making pacts with betraying, and blocking with convincing.

We have also had to contend with very powerful economic and social elites who are not running in the elections, but who want to continue controlling our country.

And we have also had to deal with the worst opposition our democratic history has known.

An opposition with no sense of state, which has not stopped questioning even the legitimacy of our electoral system, of blocking measures and voting against policies that were good for the country, and of using its regional and municipal power to boycott good policies for ordinary people.

⚡️🇺🇸🇬🇧🇮🇷 — The Pentagon said the U.S. military evacuated the 12 B-1 bombers from RAF Fairford; a U.S. official said the base was under threat of an Iranian attack. The Pentagon added that its bomber force (B-1, B-2 and B-52) “remain ready to deliver precision global strike capabilities — including through operations that launch and recover from the continental United States.” — Axios

➡️ Separately, The New York Times reported that the withdrawal was carried out with unusual speed after U.S. commanders received new intelligence on an Iran-backed plot targeting the base; some bombers and aircrews departed for the U.S. while tanker aircraft mobilized to support them were still preparing. Intelligence assessments indicated potential follow-on attacks could involve drones, while the NYT described such a rapid evacuation of combat aircraft from an allied base outside a war zone as particularly unusual.

⚡️🇧🇷 — Brazil’s presidential election will go to a 25 October runoff between right-wing Senator Flavio Bolsonaro and incumbent left-wing President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva after neither reached the 50% threshold required for victory; with ~97% counted, Bolsonaro had 47.45% and Lula 44.66%. Bolsonaro’s victory would extend a wave of right-wing wins across Latin America involving candidates aligned with U.S. President Donald Trump, while Lula’s reelection could complicate ties with Washington amid disputes over trade and security. — Reuters

➡️ Lula’s allies warned the Trump administration could refuse to recognize his victory, citing an aborted effort to send U.S. officials to Brazil; Trump has not formally endorsed a candidate but hosted Flavio Bolsonaro at the White House and publicly praised him. Reuters previously reported that Brazilian intelligence officials briefed French and German delegations on alleged U.S. and Russian interference before the election, while Washington rejected claims of interference in Brazilian affairs.

➡️ Despite declining inequality and unemployment, Lula has faced voter concerns over high living costs, heavy household debt, street crime and more pervasive gang activity. Bolsonaro has sought to capitalize on cost-of-living concerns, while Lula responded with an online-gambling ban, expanded welfare and proposed additional household debt relief as the race tightened.

Rising spending and public debt above 82% of GDP have heightened fiscal concerns for the incoming administration, while the government cut its economic-growth forecasts to 2.0% this year and 2.3% next year.

⚡️🇮🇱 — IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir Announces Overhaul of Military Intelligence and Readiness Following October 7 Investigations, — THE JERUSALEM POST

➡️ In a major policy address at the Glilot base, IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir outlined a comprehensive institutional and tactical overhaul of the Israeli military, stemming directly from the internal investigations into the failures of the October 7 massacre. Acknowledging that the IDF "failed miserably" on that day before recovering through operational resilience, Zamir announced that future force readiness will no longer rely on assessments of enemy intentions, but will instead be strictly calibrated against enemy capabilities. Under this new operational doctrine, the military is expanding its force structure to prepare for multi-front surprise attacks even in the complete absence of advance warning or effective deterrence.

➡️ The sweeping reforms span four critical pillars: strategy, operations, force buildup, and intelligence. The IDF has more than doubled its active readiness and reserve forces across all sectors, decentralized operational autonomy to regional commands and field commanders, and restructured border defense outposts to prioritize the immediate defense of civilian communities. Furthermore, the Military Intelligence Directorate has formally redefined advance warning as a core operational mission, introducing measures to synchronize warning systems across fronts, institutionalize overlapping intelligence responsibilities, and heavily penalize "intellectual tyranny" while formally commending dissenting whistleblowers like Unit 8200's Chief Warrant Officer V.

➡️ Looking forward, Zamir designated 2027 as the designated institutional year to complete ongoing probes—including investigations into Operation Roaring Lion—and synthesize the broader lessons of the ongoing multi-front war. By shifting toward proactive offensive operations, expanding regional strike capabilities, and institutionalizing a culture of rigorous critical thinking and intellectual courage, the military aims to permanently eliminate the systemic vulnerabilities that precipitated the October 7 intelligence and operational collapse.

⚡️🇺🇸🇬🇧 — The U.S. has withdrawn nearly all of its B-1B Lancer strategic bombers from RAF Fairford in the UK, with more than half of the bombers previously stationed there having returned to their home bases in the United States, marking the end of a temporary deployment, according to the Wall Street Journal and flight-tracking sources.

Ten of the twelve B-1B Lancers at the base have departed, with the final two expected to leave, meaning no U.S. strategic bombers will remain at RAF Fairford. The bombers are returning to their home bases, including Minot Air Force Base and Dyess Air Force Base, as well as Andersen Air Force Base in Guam.

RAF Fairford served as the primary forward operating base for U.S. heavy bombers in Europe, with the aircraft having participated in operations against Iran. The withdrawal comes after U.S. President Donald Trump reacted verbally to the release of all suspects arrested near the base.

British counter-terrorism police, investigating a suspected plot linked to the Fairford incident, have released on bail a 25-year-old man holding British and Iranian citizenship who had been arrested on suspicion of planning terrorist acts. The incident began near the base when five people in their twenties were arrested near three vans on suspicion of "terrorism and explosives offenses." They were later released on bail without charge, and while investigators found fuel in the vans, no improvised explosive device was found.

⚡️🇮🇱🇦🇪 — Israeli sources said interrogation of pilot Hamam Al-Hamami, who attempted to hijack a Flydubai flight to Israel, indicated he intended to crash the aircraft at Ben Gurion Airport; according to the sources, he planned to seize control only after reaching Jordan, ostensibly proceed toward a routine landing at Ben Gurion, then crash into the airport to cause mass casualties. — Ynet

➡️ Al-Hamami reportedly traveled to Israel during the summer and collected intelligence for the planned attack, initially scheduled for July but postponed because he was close to one of the crew members on the flight.

I spoke with media representatives following the Ukrainian-German Business Forum. We are sincerely grateful to the German delegation led by the Chancellor. This was a truly important, good, strong visit in terms of the agreements reached – a historic overall agreement worth €8.5 billion. And we are very grateful for the support. What is important about this visit is that Germany is not only helping Ukraine – Ukraine is also sharing its knowledge and experience, placing orders, and co-producing. These are jobs for Germany and for Ukraine. And we plan to work across many areas. We thank our German partners.

⚡️🇮🇷 — Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has officially accepted the resignation of Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad, which was submitted for personal reasons. According to the government spokesperson, Paknejad had intended to step down and raised the matter previously, but the president initially rejected the request. Since presidential approval is legally required for a ministerial resignation to take effect in Iran, the departure became official only after Pezeshkian's final endorsement. — Tasnim

➡️ To oversee the ministry on an interim basis during this transition, the president appointed Hamid Bord (also spelled Hamid Bovard) as acting oil minister. Bord is a prominent technical figure and a veteran executive within the Islamic Republic's energy sector. Prior to this appointment, he served as the Managing Director of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), the state-owned oil giant, a position he had held since August 2024.

With extensive leadership experience heading other key state energy subsidiaries—such as the Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) and the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC)—Bord now steps in to steer the ministry through this critical period for the country's strategic resources.

⚡️🇸🇦🇾🇪 — Saudi-led Coalition spokesman Maj. Gen. Turki Al-Malki said the Coalition’s Joint Forces Command continues full operational support to Aden forces and the PLC government, with the stated objective of restoring the Yemeni state and institutions and ending the Houthi takeover. He accused Houthi forces of siege, forced displacement, starvation, looting, resource exploitation, intimidation and child recruitment, and cited attacks or attempted attacks involving Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, Najran, Taif and Yanbu, as well as Saudi-linked shipping south of the Red Sea and in the Bab al-Mandab Strait, per an official statement.

➡️ Al-Malki said Riyadh retains the «inherent right to defend its sovereignty and protect its security» and may take operational measures to deter Houthi actions, while affirming continued support for Yemen until the state and its institutions are restored and the threat to navigation in the southern Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab is ended.
