Indoor dining in New York City returns on Sept. 30
Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that restaurants would be allowed to serve patrons indoors at 25 percent capacity at the end of the month, a potentially major milestone in the city’s coronavirus crisis.
In Britain, where new cases are spiking, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said most public and private gatherings would be restricted to no more than six people beginning next week.
Separately, fire destroyed most of Europe’s largest refugee camp on the Greek island of Lesbos, apparently set by a group of camp residents who were furious at being quarantined in miserable conditions because of a virus outbreak. Most of the 12,000 residents are now without shelter.
