Italian trade unions protest in Palermo over PM Meloni's economic policy
Sicilian trade unions mobilised workers in Palermo for a protest rally against the economic policies implemented by the new Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
Protesters decried the soaring electricity and gas prices, which pushed inflation to one of its highest levels, and the budget spending on war in Ukraine.
Instead the activists called for more support for workers and the national economy to take measures against inflation and unemployment.
