Revolutionary Roots
“The American Revolution was brought on and fought primarily by New Englanders, and America as we know it would not exist without New England. It is this land in particular that Europeans have absolute claim to in North America.
Other groups may have inhabited this soil before the arrival of Europeans, and others may be here now. But New England as the civilization we once knew — and the New England we hope to see in the future — was built and fought for by men and women of English, Irish, French, German, Scottish, Portuguese, and Italian descent. And it will be so again.”
