Besondere Zeiten erfordern alternative Protestideen.

Time for solidarity
Close the Erstaufnahmeeinrichtung in Lindenstraße!
Evacuate the camp in Moria!
For a boundless solidarity!
On 2 May 2020, 12 noon at the Theater am Goetheplatz, we call for a motorcade of solidarity. Together we will drive from the Theater am Goetheplatz to the camp Lindenstraße.
At the moment 374 refugees have to live in the Erstaufnahmeeinrichtung in Lindenstraße. The residents* have been warning for a long time that the living conditions there are not reasonable and that a COVID-19 infections would spread immediately. This has now happened. The Erstaufnahmeeinrichtung is in a state of emergency. 120 residents* are infected with Covid-19 (status 23.4.20). The accommodation is sealed off and can no longer be left. Meanwhile social senator Anja Stahmann plays down the problem.
We consider the local fight against the Erstaufnahmeeinrichtung Lindenstraße as part of the fight for global solidarity.
The problem is racism – the problem is nationalism
Instead of really understanding the pandemic as a global problem, nation states are falling into isolationist policies and absurd competitive logics. Nationalism is, once again, the answer to the crisis.
After the financial crisis in 2008, the starting signal for massive austerity measures in Europe was given, enforced by Germany – also in the health sector. This is now having fatal consequences in Greece, among others: More than a third of the hospitals were closed and the financial means were cut by 40 percent – and still many Greek cannot afford their own health insurance. The crisis winner and „world champion in respiration“, Germany, is doing everything in its power to resist European solidarity and is refusing the so-called “Corona Bonds” to the crisis losers* who are already on the ground, leaving them alone when taking in refugees.
Germany applauds itself in the global race for the smallest number of corona deaths. Workers* in professions now called „systemically relevant“ shall self-sacrifice themselves for the business
