Dear Students,

The final exam for the course "Math 1011 - Mathematics for Natural Sciences" which was given on August 01, 2022 is cancelled since it was found that the exam was posted on a telegram group and a number of students were red-handed. Thus, the Undergraduate Program Office decided that the exam will be repeated on Tuesday, August 09, 2022 in the morning at 9:00AM. Thus, this is kindly to inform you to attend the re-exam on this date at your respective exam rooms.

How to avoid academic dishonesty by respecting exam room discipline?

Permitted and forbidden items

• It is not allowed to bring mobile phones or any other electronic device (except scientific calculators) to exam hall. Any student caught during examination with mobile phones, either switched on or not, will be accounted for cheating.

• Mobile phones shouldn’t be used as substitute for calculators.

• Students shouldn’t wear hat and other type of clothes that hampers the invigilators inspection capacity.

• Each student must bring his/her University ID card and keep on the chair visible to the invigilator.

• No student may be admitted into an examination hall 30 minutes after the beginning of the examination and no student may be allowed to leave an examination hall within 30 minutes of the beginning of an examination and before signing the examination attendance sheet.

• If a student is forced to leave an examination hall for health reasons, and in so far as the student is in a conscious and sound state of mind, the invigilator in attendance shall inform him of the fact that certification from a medical doctor must be obtained expeditiously to substantiate the claim of sickness or illness.


Violation of examination regulations in an examination room

• Copying from pieces of paper or any other source of information brought into an examination hall where such material is not specifically permitted.

• Working on or being found in possession of examination papers other than one’s own.

• Exchanging information in the examination hall in oral, symbolic, written or any other means, such as mobile phones where these are not specifically permitted.

• Making use of someone else’s work, or parts thereof, without acknowledging the same and with deliberate intent to represent such material as one’s own.

• Sitting for an examination in a module/course for which one has not been registered.

• Taking an examination by proxy, i.e., through another party.

• Disorderly conduct in an examination hall, including refusal to accept and abide by instructions given by the invigilator.

• Being caught in the act of avoiding signing attendance sheets in an examination or trying to leave examination halls without submitting answer sheets in ways that could lead to claiming absence from the hall.

• Engaging in any other act that is deemed inappropriate to the smooth and fair conduct of the examination.

Penalty if a student commits an act of academic dishonesty

• He /she shall be suspended for a minimum of one academic year.

For those of you who are in goof academic status, your data are now transferred to the departments your are placed. However, we found some students with incomplete academic status, unsubmitted grades, etc. Thus, such students are kindly advised to contact the registrar office asap.

Since we may not help you in this matter, reporting to our office will be useless. That is why we encourage you to consult the office of the registrar.

Clarification on Quota

It is known that, during your orientation, we have mentioned the quota of each School based on the possible 902 students, a total number of students in our system before the placement form is filled. However, after students filled the placement form, there were only 809 active students, due to transfer and other academic reasons. Thus, the quota is proportionally adjusted and approved for the active 809 students, who passed this semester and successfully filled the form. Thus, a department with planned quota of 200 students took only 180 students and a department with 100 took only 90 students. We hope that this clarifies a confusion created in some of you. Thus, don't expect that there is a reserved open slot for possible placement.

[Important! Complaint related notes]

👆 Please note that yout placement was done based on the criteria presented to you during the orientation day and your complaints should only be as per these criteria.

👆 As we already mentioned in our notices, you must come in person to complaints. Therefore, compaints won't be filled via third person.

👆 Cut-off point is entirely dependent on your academic performances, students' preference and department's quota. Cut-off point is a reflection of how tough the competition is and it is something that can't be modified though complaints.

👆 Medical and other certificate, personal success, interest,  recommendation letter is not and will not be used as an input for this placement.

👆 Transfer between departments is strictly forbiden at this period of time where placement is done.

👆 Complaints are expected to be reported individually not in group since group complaints will not be reviewed.

👆 Today, May 24, 2022 afternoon at 4:30PM will be the last day to report your complaints.

👆 All departments already began classes and while your complaints are reviewed, you are expected to attend your classes where you are placed to avoid possible absebteessem.
