The Natural Union - Blood & Soil
With axe and hoe and shovel and more,
We've worked the ground and shaped its form.
Fathers, brothers, cousins, sons
All shaped the Earth with loved ones.
Under our care
And by our will
The land was changed
And bears us still.
But not just peaceful toil
Preserves our soil.
By strength of will and blood we spill
Our land is won,
Forfeit to none.
We've shaped the land
By endless toil;
The blood we've shed
Defends our soil.
But not alone
Have we shaped our home.
It effects us too,
Our homelands true.
Through frost
And ice
And winter's chill,
With stormy sea
And nature's wealth,
From high Alps' peaks
To lowland shores,
Our dear Europa
Shaped us too --
To conquer all
And prove ever true.
Our land gave to you
Your fair hue,
Your eyes so bright
And soul so light.
It's shaped our blood
As we've shaped it --
Through sacred union
Of Man and land --
The mutual toil
of Blood and Soil.
