๐บ๐ธ Donald Trump delivered his first presidential address to the Congress outlining key actions taken during his first weeks in office.
Trump opened by telling lawmakers that โAmerica is backโ, and closed by saying that โthe Golden Age of America has only just begunโ. Among other actions:
- He highlighted his electoral victory.
- Boasted he has accomplished more in a few weeks than the past administrations in their complete terms.
- Advocated for his legislation on immigration and trade to be supported by the Congress.
- Promised he will balance the federal budget and praised Elon Muskโs DOGE.
- Promoted an aggressive trade rhetoric and said more tariffs will come.
- Recognised some of the White House's guests, including the mother and sister of Laken Riley, a 22-year old who was killed last year by an illegal immigrant and 13-year-old DJ Daniel, who was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2018.
- Said he will end the war in Ukraine, called for the release of hostages in Gaza and the annexation of Greenland and the Panama Canal.
- Signed an executive order renaming a wildlife refuge near Galveston Bay after Jocelyn Nungaray, a 12-year old girl who was raped and murdered by illegal immigrants.
