These are the laptops I would consider if my budget was in the mentioned bracket.

Thin laptops struggle with games, while gaming laptops are heavy and have a short battery life. 
Get the latest processors, but a 13th Gen i5 can often match a 12th Gen i7.
For Intel, the letter at the end matters.
U: ultra-low-power; H: high-performance; HX: enthusiastic high-performance (for gamers or power users); Performance:  thin and light
