About four months ago, State Farm canceled over 72,000 home insurance policies throughout California, including all of the policies in Pacific Palisades, a very wealthy neighborhood in LA.

It is not uncommon for insurance companies to take actions like that, however, the close timing of them pulling out shortly before LA’s most destructive and costly wildfire ever, is suspect.

Either State Farm has the best risk management team ever, they were simply lucky, or they had a heads up, which means this fire was intentional.
