There is a rumour spreading through the ranks of Victoria Police that Brett Curran, Daniel Andrews’ Former Chief of Staff, is about to be appointed Victoria’s next Chief Commissioner.

Labor rewards its mates—those who play the game and toe the line. Curran has spent his entire policing career covering up Labor scandals.

☞ He played a part in the preventing Labor politicians and staff from being charged over the theft of taxpayers money during the Red Shirts scandal.

☞ And guess who Dan Andrews’ chief of staff was when his car hit and almost killed young cyclist Ryan Meuleman in the infamous Bike Boy scandal?

That’s right—Brett Curran. The phone records from that day show how close Curran was to the cover up of crimes.

☞ And it’s interesting to note that Curran recently transferred his house into his wife’s name as the Bike Boy investigation and court cases hot up.

Coincidence? Let’s wait and see.

Brett Curran protects and serves Labor, and not the people of Victoria and if the rumours swirling around VicPol are right, it will show how corrupt Labor, and some VicPol officers, really are.

We must end the practice of Premiers hand-picking Chief Commissioners.

The next Victorian Chief Commissioner should be decided by a full vote of Parliament to ensure candidates aren’t ever chosen for political reasons.
