‘MONSTER STORM’ Hurricane Helene Is Potentially ‘Unsurvivable,’ the National Weather Service Warns
Fox Weather reports Hurricane Helene “will unleash a potentially ‘unsurvivable’ 20-foot storm surge, catastrophic hurricane-force winds and flooding rain.”
Helene is expected to make landfall in Florida’s Big Bend region, which includes cities like Apalachicola, Cedar Key, and Carrabelle.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis declared a state of emergency for 61 counties, urging residents to evacuate, with mandatory orders in place.
“This is a major storm and the time to act is now. Heed local warnings and do what you need to stay safe,” DeSantis warned.
