The Church of Scotland has expressed its support for a call from the Patriarchs and Heads of Churches in occupied al-Quds, urging congregations in the Holy Land to honor the arrival of Christ's birth with public displays of Christian hope.

However, the church emphasized the importance of doing so in a way that is mindful of the ongoing suffering faced by millions in the region.

“As we approach Christmas and the thoughts of believers around the world turn to events in the Holy Land two millennia ago, we also think about what is happening in the Middle East today,” the statement reads.

The Church emphasized the importance of remembering those affected by the wars: “In the spirit of Christmas and following the example of Jesus Christ, whose birthday we celebrate, we remember those in suffering, in pain and in grief, and those who have been displaced from their homes, whatever their faith or background."

Illegal Israeli settlers have been knocked wide awake by sirens triggered by Yemeni attacks on occupied territories, four times in less than a week, in what Israeli website Ynet coined a "new campaign of attrition."

According to the website, the Israeli air defenses were able to intercept a few missiles before they entered occupied airspace, but the debris and fallout have caused property damage and generally disrupted daily life.

Yedioth Ahronoth, on the other hand, described settlers as "zombies" awoken by sirens after a Yemeni missile was launched at Gush Dan in central "Israel".

Yemen's security forces have exposed a network of spies linked to the CIA and Mossad, revealing attempts to undermine the country’s sovereignty. The operation targeted military leaders and figures opposed to "Israel" and the US, according to a statement.

Starting December 1, 2024, China began banning the export of key materials like gallium and germanium to the United States, targeting dual-use items vital for technologies such as semiconductors and solar panels.

These new rules hold violators accountable under Chinese law and are part of China's broader strategy to counter US sanctions and trade restrictions.

The Health Ministry in Gaza has released its latest figures as the Israeli genocide in the Gaza Strip persists for the 446th consecutive day. Over the past 24 hours, three massacres targeting families have killed 23 and injured 39, with many victims still trapped under rubble or in inaccessible areas.

In a recent strike, Israeli forces targeted a school sheltering displaced families in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, killing three and injuring 25. Hospitals and residential areas, including locations in Beit Hanoun and Beit Lahia, have also been hit, intensifying the humanitarian crisis in the besieged territory.

Emergency teams continue to face immense challenges in reaching victims due to the relentless bombardment.

Lew disputed FEWS NET's figures, claiming they assumed between 65,000 to 75,000 residents remained in North Gaza, while Israeli and UN estimates suggest only 7,000 to 15,000 people remain. “At a time when inaccurate information is causing confusion and accusations, it is irresponsible to issue a report like this,” Lew said in a statement.

A report warning of famine unfolding in North Gaza under the Israeli blockade has been removed from the Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS NET) website following criticism from the United States.

The US ambassador to "Israel", Jacob Lew, called the report “irresponsible,” alleging it relied on outdated and inaccurate data.

FEWS NET, a global food crisis monitoring organization established by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) in the 1980s, had assessed that conditions in North Gaza likely surpassed the thresholds for Famine (IPC Phase 5), the most severe level in food security classification. The report warned that deaths from starvation could escalate beyond famine levels within weeks if the blockade persists.

Hamas announced, in a statement, that "Israel" has introduced new conditions, causing delays in finalizing a ceasefire agreement for Gaza. The group stated that the conditions pertain to issues such as troop withdrawal, cessation of hostilities, prisoner exchanges, and the return of displaced individuals.

Despite the setbacks, Hamas emphasized its willingness to show flexibility, describing the ongoing negotiations mediated by Qatar and Egypt as serious and progressing.

Reuters reported earlier this week that the gap between "Israel" and Hamas on a potential truce has narrowed, though key disagreements remain unresolved.

#WATCH | Protests erupted in a town located in the countryside of Quneitra, as residents demonstrated against the Israeli occupation's recent incursion into Syrian territory.

According to reports from an Israeli media platform, Israeli forces opened fire on Syrian protesters in the area, leading to multiple injuries.

In a recent interview with Al Mayadeen, Archbishop Atallah Hanna called on the world to demand an end to the ongoing Israeli genocidal war, urging the international community to stand for justice and human rights.

Hanna emphasized that Palestine is a cause for all Arabs, both Muslims and Christians. He rejected any notion of Christians as a minority or foreign presence in the region, stating: "Christians in the Arab East are not an imported commodity from the West. We are indigenous to this land, and we reject being referred to as minorities, communities, or sects."

Addressing broader regional issues, Hanna stressed the importance of respecting the diversity of all peoples in the Middle East, particularly in Syria. "We must respect the uniqueness of every component of the Syrian people, regardless of religious or sectarian affiliation," he said.

Palestinians living in the West Bank endure financial, physical, and psychological torment, compounded by a heightened sense of horror over the events unfolding nearby in the Gaza Strip. However, things are about to change dramatically and the Israeli project could tremendously backfire.

#UPDATE | Local Syrian sources: The number of injured has risen to five as a result of Israeli occupation forces opening fire on residents of the village of Susah, south of al-Quneitra.

Germany authorized additional arms exports to "Israel" worth over €30 million ($31.2 million) in recent weeks, according to a report by German newsweekly Der Spiegel on Tuesday.

In total, Germany approved arms shipments to "Israel" exceeding €160 million this year, despite mounting international criticism over Israeli genocidal actions in Gaza, as voiced by human rights groups.

Germany remains a steadfast ally of "Israel", with Chancellor Olaf Scholz frequently highlighting Germany’s historical responsibility for "Israel’s" security due to its Nazi past.

Critics contend that Berlin’s unwavering support for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government is undermining Germany’s global reputation and increasing its isolation on the world stage.

#BREAKING | Local sources told Al Mayadeen that residents of the Syrian village of Susah, located in the southern countryside of al-Quneitra, are staging a demonstration against Israeli occupation forces who stormed the area earlier today.

According to the sources, Israeli forces, including two bulldozers and tanks, entered a barracks in the village center and carried out acts of sabotage. The incursion has sparked outrage among locals, leading to the ongoing protests.

The Yemeni Armed Forces announced a ballistic missile strike targeting a military site in the Israeli-occupied city of Yafa, according to a statement released today. The operation utilized a hypersonic missile, dubbed Palestine 2 and was declared a success.

“This strike is a response to the massacres committed against our Palestinian brothers in Gaza,” the statement read, adding that Yemen will continue its military operations against the Israeli occupation until the siege on Gaza is lifted and hostilities cease.

Earlier today, sirens sounded across several major Israeli settlements and occupied cities, including Tel Aviv and areas in the West Bank.

Al Mayadeen’s correspondent in southern Lebanon reports significant damage in the city of al-Khiam as a result of the Israeli airstrikes. The Lebanese Army has bolstered its presence in the area, establishing five new checkpoints as part of its deployment plan after the Israeli withdrawal.

Lebanese Army engineering teams, along with bulldozers, are working to clear debris left by the Israeli aggression. The operation is set to proceed once UNIFIL scans the area.

UNIFIL has increased its patrols in the region, deploying nine additional vehicles to monitor the situation closely. Meanwhile, reports indicate ongoing Israeli activity, with drones flying over southern Lebanon and explosions reported in the towns of Kfar Kila and Bani Hayyan.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) has raised alarm over the devastating toll of the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza, reporting that over 14,500 children have been killed since the war began, according to UNICEF. This equates to one child losing their life every hour.

“These are not numbers. These are lives cut short,” UNRWA stated on X, emphasizing that the children of Gaza are not only being killed but also left physically and emotionally scarred. Many who survive are deprived of education and forced to sift through rubble in search of remnants of their lives.

UNRWA highlighted the urgency of the crisis, warning that the children of Gaza are losing more than their lives—they are losing "futures and mostly their hope."
