Content: On Friday, May 13th, the event organizer Inurfase invited to its very first hardcore party in Hamburg. With a bold lineup Hamburg was challenged to bring down the famous Dock’s club.RenéWhen there is one venue in Hamburg city that stands for Hard Dance Music events, then it’s clearly the Dock’s. The location is directly on St. Pauli in the heart of Hamburg and looks back on a long history of events – which mostly were Hardstyle events. Legends like Brennan Heart, Da Tweekaz or even Radical Redemption played there.But on May 13th the time had come for Inurfase and Hardcore. For this purpose Inurfase invited Mad Dog | D-Fence | DRS | Mr. Bassmeister | Yoshiko and contest winner DJ Maniac. The complete night got hosted by hardcore mc legend Tha Watcher.MediaThis was Inurfase – Unleashed: DRS in actionENTRANCEWe had to pass one security check via a single queue at the entrance. The security was friendly but checked us pretty thoroughly. A second person scanned our ticket and we headed further to the wardrobe. Quick, lean nice – thats how we like it.KICK OFFThe contest winner DJ Maniac opened the night on time at 11:00 PM and delivered classical hardcore beats to heat up the people. The floor filled slowly. This pretty quickly changed when Yoshiko appeared on the stage. The DJane with relatives from Japan and Brazil was a pure energy plast. With higher speed and powerful hardcore bootlegs the whole crowd caught fire. THis is energetic hardcore as we like it.MAD DOG ON STAGEAlready at 1:00 am it was time for the hardcore legend Mad Dog – and he took the crowd by storm. On a nice but puristic looking stage the moving heads and lasers dominated now the scenery. He played this years Masters of Hardcore anthem ‘Magnus Opus’ and more classic tunes reaching from Millenium Hardcore, to Down but also to uptempo parts. And here MC Tha Watcher reached full temperature. Nearly every track got pushed forward by him and their long hardcore history was more than obvious to feel and see.MediaThis was Inurfase – Unleashed: View from behindD-Fence premiers new trackThen Mr. high-speed hardcore D-Fence took over. He directly drove up the intensity and kicks. Edits of Wall of Base and N-Vitral track ‘Nuclear’ brought the full dancefloor to the next level. Kick by kick and a laser warfare did their rest. The atmosphere was at its peak now – the complete crowd moved and danced as one. At the very end, D-Fence grabbed the microphone to announce his brand new collab with GPF. And where GPF is written on, there is GPF in. The track turned into a wild Kick, Bass and Beep-Kick 250 BPM chaos. But the crowd appreciated this by continuously raised fists.DRS AND MR. BASSMEISTERThe final chapter got govered by Uptempo and Frenchcore. DRS jumped around the stage like a bouncy ball, cheering the crowd to step on the gas even more whilst more than 250 BPM roared from the speakers. The sound system was already riching its limit but DRS showed no mercy. We have lost a VIP – an obituary for DELETE

Ryan Biggs, better known as Delete, passed away. Eleven days ago these shocking news got public. The incredible amount of memories that are floating on social networks and the moments where DJs pay tribute to him give a hint of how huge the grief is – and which gap he leaves behind. The pain stays. And so does his unrivaled music. An obituary that never should have been written.
The man with the Australian accent, the gentle face, and the most violent kicks: Delete has been a person who once you saw and heard him, stayed on your mind. Far more than one century in the scene, he did not only influence Raw Hardstyle – but he was part of the ones who invented the genre we love so much. Therefore he has been significantly involved in the evolution and still is a significant part of the success of this kind of music. Together with his friend Vazard he founded Spoontech Records back in 2010 – and with that, he laid the foundation for his Raw empire that he had been building thereafter. His early tracks like ‚D‚ (on the ultimate legendary Pure Spoonage EP together with Vazard in 2010), ‚Malfunction‘ (2010), and ‚Formula‘ (2011) emerged, and that was only the beginning.
As the most successful Australian export, he moved to The Netherlands in 2013 to follow his dream as a DJ and producer in the Hardstyle scene. In the following years tracks like ‚Ghetto‘ (2014), ‚Just Do It‘ (2015), ‚The World Is Yours‘ and ‚Absolute Terror‘ (with Vazard and Main Concern, both 2016) followed. Seeing how perfectly they still work at parties makes it hard to believe how (comparatively) „old“ they actually are. It shows once more what a timeless and uncomparable sound he had been creating. Quite a few fans always started dances of joy whenever they spotted an eagerly awaited Delete classics set on a line-up. His performances like at We Are Hardstyle 2018 and last but not least his final set at Rebirth 2022 stay unforgettable forever – blessed are the ones who had been there.




REBiRTH Festival: Delete & Delete classics

With his urge to always be better than before, he went the extra mile with Delete VIP. He created an act that not only made the ground quake but obviously inspired more than one of his colleagues. After his very first VIP performance at Supremacy 2015, many highly appreciated and even more praised VIP sets followed, like the one at Qapital 2016 – or the legendary one at Defqon.1 2019, which he played exactly during the time of the sacred endshow. Who thinks the BLUE was some kind of empty is mistaking not only Delete but also his fans. Q-dance must have been sure: If there is one DJ able to fully pack the BLUE while the endshow is going, it has to be Delete.
Regardless of whether Spoontech Records, Theracords, or End of Line – Delete had been reporting understanding and good relationships with his labels and for that, we can be thankful. In 2017 tracks like ‚Munky Shit‘, ‚The Power‘, and ‚Sucka For Pain‘ (with Outbreak) came out. And ‚Unstoppable‘ (with Deetox) which has a special meaning until today – especially today. From the beginning, every track hit like a bomb – even if it was the first time ever played live. ‚Explosions‘ (with Vazard), ‚Take It Back‘, ‚V1P‚, ‚W4RR1OR‚ (with Chris One), and ‚V2P‘ paved the way for another debilitating highlight that came out in 2018: his album ‚Alpha Omega‚.

Ryan Biggs, besser bekannt als Delete, ist tot. Elf Tage ist es her, dass diese Schocknachricht publik wurde. Die unfassbare Menge an Erinnerungen, die seit diesem Tag in den sozialen Medien zu finden ist und die Momente, in denen DJs ihm in ihren Sets Tribut zollen, lässt erahnen, wie groß die Trauer ist – und welche Lücke er hinterlässt. Der Schmerz bleibt. Seine unvergleichliche Musik ebenso. Ein Nachruf, der niemals hätte geschrieben werden sollen.
Dieser Mann mit dem australischen Akzent, dem zarten Gesicht und den brachialsten Kicks: Delete war ein Mensch, der einmal gesehen und gehört, im Kopf blieb. Weit mehr als ein Jahrzehnt in der Szene, hat er Raw Hardstyle nicht nur geprägt – sondern mitkreiert und so maßgeblich zu der Entwicklung sowie dem Erfolg des Genres beigetragen, welches wir so sehr lieben. Gemeinsam mit seinem Kumpel Vazard gründete er im Jahr 2010 Spoontech Records – und hat damit den Grundstein für sein Raw-Imperium gelegt, das er daraufhin aufbaute. Seine früheren Tracks wie ‚D‘ (auf der ultimativ legendären Pure Spoonage EP zusammen mit Vazard im Jahr 2010), ‚Malfunction‘ (2010) und ‚Formula‘ (2011) entstanden, und das war erst der Anfang.
Als der erfolgreichste australische Export zog er 2013 in die Niederlande, um seinen Traum als DJ und Producer in der Hardstyle Szene zu verfolgen. In den Jahren darauf folgten Tracks wie ‚Ghetto‘ (2014), ‚Just Do It‘ (2015), ‚The World Is Yours‘ und ‚Absolute Terror‘ (mit Vazard und Main Concern, beide 2016). Wenn man sieht, wie einwandfrei die Tracks auch heute noch auf den Partys funktionieren, ist es unglaublich zu wissen, wie (verhältnismäßig) „alt“ sie eigentlich sind. Es macht einmal mehr deutlich, was für einen zeitlosen und unvergleichen Sound er erschaffen hat. Nicht wenige Fans brachen immer wieder in regelrechte Freudentänze aus, wenn sie ein heiß ersehntes Delete Classics Set auf dem Line-up entdeckten. Unvergessen bleiben seine Auftritte wie auf We Are Hardstye 2018 und nicht zuletzt sein finales Set auf Rebirth 2022 – dankbar sei, wer das erleben durfte.

Mit seinem Drang sich selbst immer wieder zu toppen, noch krasser und noch besser zu sein, setzte er mit Delete VIP noch einen drauf. Er erschuf einen Act, mit dem er nicht nur den Boden zum Beben brachte, sondern auch offensichtlich mehr als einen seiner Kollegen inspirierte. Nach seiner ersten VIP Performance auf Supremacy 2015 folgten viele weitere, hochgeschätzte und noch mehr gefeierte VIP Sets, wie beispielsweise auf Qapital 2016 – oder das legendäre Set auf Defqon.1 2019, das er genau zur gleichen Zeit wie die Endshow spielte. Wer glaubt, die BLUE sei auch nur annährend leer gewesen, irrt sich nicht nur in Delete, sondern auch in seinen Fans. Q-dance muss sich sicher gewesen sein: Wenn es einer schafft, die BLUE voll zu machen, während die Endshow läuft, dann ist es Delete.
Egal ob Spoontech Records, Theracords oder End of Line – Delete berichtet von Verständnis und guten Verhältnissen seiner Labels und dafür dürfen wir dankbar sein. Im Jahr 2017 folgten dann Tracks wie ‚Munky Shit‘, ‚The Power‘, ‚Sucka For Pain‘ (mit Outbreak) – und ‚Unstoppable‘ (mit Deetox), der bis heute – vor allem heute – eine besondere Bedeutung hat.
