Haust Network Updates

Who doesn’t like things to happen as fast as possible? ⚡

In DeFi, waiting isn’t ideal either.

Slow finality can mean lost opportunities and interrupted flows.

But NFFL is here to change that.

Curious how it works and why Haust leverages it?

Let’s dive in! 🧵👇

1️⃣ What is NFFL?

NFFL, the Nuffle Fast Finality Layer from
@nufflelabs
, is a blockchain protocol designed to bring faster and secure transactions to finality.

Its cross-chain capabilities mean it can support seamless interactions between different chain, making it an important layer for DeFi and other dApps.

2️⃣ How Does NFFL Work?

In order to enable fast and secure transaction finality, NFFL combines several mechanisms:

👉 Restaking with EigenLayer

To secure transactions, NFFL relies on users who “restake” ETH on EigenLayer.

These users, known as Restakers, provide economic security for the NFFL network by delegating their staked assets to validators, who then confirm transactions.

👉 Actively Validated Service (AVS)

AVS contracts play a critical role as middleware between off-chain nodes and the core EigenLayer protocol.

Validators (or Operators) use AVS contracts to confirm that transactions have integrity and authenticity. These Operators then use NFFL’s validator infrastructure to verify tasks and validate final states.

👉 Data Availability (DA)

NEAR DA serves as NFFL’s data layer.

It stores transaction data, allowing validators to access and verify it reliably, ensuring an accurate view of network states without obstructing the primary chain.

👉 Signatures & Aggregation

Once a transaction is validated, each NFFL node signs it with a unique signature.

These signatures are then aggregated into a single "proof," ensuring that multiple validators agree on the transaction’s state.

The combined proof is what enables fast, cross-chain finality, providing users with a quick, secure stamp of approval for their transactions.

3️⃣ Real-World Analogy

Think of NFFL as a high-speed delivery hub connecting a network of local couriers.

Imagine you're shipping packages between cities (blockchains) with tight schedules.

Instead of waiting for each package to make multiple stops, a delivery hub (NFFL) coordinates with local couriers in each city to confirm the packages have reached key checkpoints.

Once enough couriers verify arrival, they send a final confirmation back to the hub.

This confirmation aggregates all checkpoints into a single, trusted update.

4️⃣ How Haust Leverages NFFL

By using NFFL, Haust enables fast transaction finality (3-4 seconds) for DeFi services.

*Among major chains, some take around 12 seconds to reach finality, while others require several minutes.

Here’s how it benefits users:

Enhanced User Experience: Faster finality directly translates to shorter wait times, transactions that would otherwise take minutes or hours can be completed in seconds.

Secure Cross-Chain Interactions: Because of NFFL’s cross-chain verification, Haust users can transfer assets across different blockchains without needing to rely on third-party bridges.

Lower Costs & Higher Efficiency: Since NFFL uses NEAR DA for data storage, it reduces on-chain storage costs.

5️⃣ Final Thoughts

With NFFL empowering Haust’s DeFi ecosystem, users can access unprecedented transaction speeds.
