It's the peak of the season! Take a tour with me through my garden.

It's my first time planting in a place that rains in the summer, and while the tomatoes might crack more than in gardens past, I'm relieved I don't have to be a helicopter parent to everybody.

I'm very pleased with the zucchini rampicante/tromboncino, which is a vining variety that produces long, seedless summer squash. If left to mature, it also becomes a hard skinned winter squash. Vine borers got one, but there's plenty others.

I planted the onions really late, it was April when I should've planted in February. Evidently, being late doesn't matter that much with them, as I got some massive globes!

All of the perennials were planted by my husband and this is their first fruit. This year we also planted mulberry trees, raspberries, and wineberries.

I hope you're having a great summer! 💃🌻

Wow, I literally just made this channel on the first, and it got more attention than I thought. Thank you, really!

Telegram is difficult to get attention on because it doesn't have the algorithms that work for you like they do on social media sites. I wasn't sure how this was going to go, but I'm really happy that my energy going into this seems worthwhile!

For some reason, uploading information and talking about this stuff keeps me sane. The fact that people can benefit from that is just great.

The goal isn't to get numbers, though - it's to make essential information available to as many people as possible, for the sake of improving everyone's quality of life through knowledge.

Thank you for your curiosity - the world needs it.

Stimulus checks are slamming the bank accounts of people across America. What ever shall they invest in?

This Friday, we're taking a break from first aid and shifting our focus on GEAR!

Stay tuned and tell your friends. This is an often overlooked subject, but very important to your efficiency innawoods. It could also mean life or death.

Survival and prepping is not so much of an apparent interest in the feminine world, but that doesn't mean women don't deserve to survive.

Rebuilding a community simply can't be done if it's just a big sausage party. Women offer a lot to the health of a group, as long as there are somewhat equal amounts of both men and women (a lopsided population leads to some other issues which don't really need to be elaborated on here). Because of the nature of our society, many women are distracted, and in these times especially, confused and feeling helpless.

Sharing DIY information that is relevant to a woman's interests, like her health and well-being, is a good way to introduce her to a world where what she does matters. Autonomy and confidence are being eroded away by our toxic culture, but it just so happens that they're also two major side effects of prepping.

Not only is there something for everybody to enjoy, but there is something for each individual to contribute - and those two things can go hand in hand. Look out for your fellow women, and they'll be more than happy to look out for you.

Midwifery seems to be forgotten by the first world, which ushers pregnant women into impersonal, borderline abusive hospitals. The medical industry has effectively convinced women that they can't handle their body's natural processes without them, or else something terrible will happen.

Like any other medical know-how, the skills of the midwife are not so secret at all. You can learn the basics of caring for pregnancy and birth whether you are expecting or you know someone who is.

Innawoods is not a place where you want to find your knowledge coming up short. Perhaps if you are a man going solo you could do well without knowing anything about women's health, but if you are around women at all it is a good idea to be prepared for... Well, what women's bodies do.

Men are lucky in that their bodies seem to function well enough no matter what kind of abuse is thrown at them. Women are much more delicate, and absolutely require more attention, which is why women's health is its own vast topic.

A Book for Midwives
by Susan Klein, Suellen Miller, and Fiona Thomson

Originally published in 1995, A Book for Midwives has proven to be a vital resource for practicing midwives and midwifery training programs around the world. Heavily illustrated, clearly written, and developed with the participation of community-based midwives, midwifery trainers, and medical specialists around the world, it is equally useful in a rural village or urban clinic, as a training manual for students or as a reference for an experienced midwife.

Want a more body-friendly way to beat bacterial infections? Colloidal silver may be the answer for you, and you can make it at home yourself.

This isn't a new alternative to medicine, as people in the last century had used it as a treatment for several diseases including common colds and flu, as well as a general antibiotic in the 1920s and 30s. But as time goes by, its use declines, although proponents claim it is still as effective as modern antibiotics. It also works against rashes, acne, and sties.

Amoxicillin is fine for most applications, but if you were to find a tick burrowed into your skin, you'd only need to take doxycycline for 2 days as opposed to amoxicillin's 30 in order to prevent a Lyme infection from taking hold.

Doxycycline is also recommended for treatment of diseases such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, periodontitis, and others.

Fish Mox and Friends!

Antibiotics are indeed a must for your medicine cabinet, but definitely used sparingly, as excessive antibiotic use can severely disrupt your microbiome and thus, your health.

However, if a bacterial infection must go away because of its severity and inconvenience, you'll really want antibiotics.

But how do I get antibiotics without a prescription, you ask?

Fish antibiotics are legal to buy over the counter and are exactly the same as what you're prescribed by your doctor.

There are several different types, pictured here, but there are only two I believe you need on hand, unless you are allergic to them.

One is the popular amoxicillin, standard fish mox, that is good for general antibiotic use.

The second is the coveted doxycycline, which can be more effective than amoxicillin for the reason that it can handle more serious infections and can usually knock things out faster with less side effects.
