Imam Ibn Al Qayyim said:

The believer who is sincere to Allah is the one who will be the best among the people in terms of living, the most blessed in terms of his mind, and the most expansive of them in his chest, and the happiest of them in his heart,
And (being in) this (state) is the early Jannah before the Jannah that comes later.

Ad Daa wad Dawaa (1/459)

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمة ألله said:

"If you see Allaah giving you from His blessings one after the other, whilst you yourself is constant upon disobeying Him, be vigilant.

Because this (i.e blessings) is only an enticement (towards punishment) that Allaah is enticing you with."

*[ad-Daa wa Dawaa p. 35]*

Ibn Qayyim رحمه الله said:

"Wealth goes away as it is spent, but knowledge grows upon spending it."

Miftāḥ Dār al-Sa'āda 129/1

The Noor [Light] Of La ilaha ila Allaah

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim [رحمه الله] said :
❝Know that the rays and beams of La ilaha ila Allaah [none is worthy of worship except Allaah] disperse the fog and cloudiness of sins, which is relative to the strength and weakness of those rays and beams.

So the statement of La ilaha ila Allaah has Noor [light]. The people of La ilaha ila Allaah vary immensely in this light - in respect to strength and weakness - of which only Allaah [تعالى] knows the extent of this immense variance.

• So there are people whose light in their hearts of this statement is like the sun.

• From them whose light of this statement in their hearts is like a bright shiny star.

• From them whose light of this statement in their hearts is like a great burning torch.

• Another one is like a illuminated lamp

• Another one is like a weak lamp.

This is why on the Day of Judgement lights will appear from the people on their rightsides and in front of them in these quantities.

This is according to what they have in their hearts of the light of this statement in respect to knowledge and action, perception of La ilaha ila Allaah and the condition of the people.❞

[Mudarij as-Salikeen, (1/328) | Translated By Abbas Abu Yahya Miraath al-Anbiyya]

Ibn al-Qayyim Raḥimahullāh:

“Whoever seeks knowledge to revive Islām with it, then he is from the truthful ones and his rank is (straight) after the rank of Prophethood.”

● [مفتاح دار السعادة ١/٢١٢]

‎Ibn al-Qayyim said:

"Be children of the hereafter and don't be children of the worldly life, for verily the child follows the mother."

[كتاب الفوائد للإمام ابن القيم صفحة ٤٤٦]

Imaam Ibn Al-Qayyim said:

"Grief, sorrow and distress only occur from two directions:
One of it is: The desire for the worldly life and having a zeal for it;

And the second is: shortening in the actions of obedience and piety." [Uddah As-Saabireen pg.227]

Ibn al-Qayyim said concerning Soorat al-Faatihah:

Whoever is guided by Allaah and is given good insight to understand the deep meaning of this soorah and what it contains of Tawheed, understanding of the Divine nature, the names, attributes and actions of Allaah, the Divine decree, the Resurrection, rejecting any misconception that undermines the concept of the Oneness of the Divine Lordship and Divine nature, complete trust in Allaah and referring all one’s affairs to the One Who has full control of all things – to Him be all praise, for all goodness is in His hand and to Him all things return – and feeling in need of Him in seeking guidance that is the root of happiness in this world and in the Hereafter, will realize the connection between the contents of this soorah and bringing good and warding off evil. He will understand that ultimate goodness and blessing is connected to this soorah and is dependent upon understanding it and acting upon it. Then this soorah will make him independent of many other kinds of medicine and ruqyah, and it will open the door to a great deal of goodness and ward off a great deal of evil.

Zaad al-Ma’aad, 4/347

Ibn Qayyim رحمه الله said: "Whoever loves this worldly life, will estimate its value, he will make himself a slave to it and it will humiliate him. And whoever neglects it, will notice his great value, it will humiliate itself for him."

‎● [الفوائد صحفة ١٦٠]

Ibn Qayyim رحمه الله said: "The keys to the life of the heart lie in:

١. Reflecting upon the Qur'ān.
٢. Being humble before Allāh in secret.
٣. Leaving sins.

‎● [هدي الارواح الى بلاد الافراح صحفة ٤٥]

Ibn al-Qayyim Rahimahullah summarized the extent of the Prophet’s (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) noble manners by saying:

“ * The Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) used to greet the children when he passed by them.

* Sometimes, a little girl would take him by the hand and he would allow her to lead him wherever she wanted.

* He (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) used to lick his fingers after eating.

* He (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) would be in the service of his family when at home.

* Never would he become angry because of
something personal.

* He (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) used to repair his own sandals and mend his own torn clothes.

* He would milk his goat himself for his own family.

* He would feed his own camel.

* He used to eat with his servants, sit in the company of the poor people, and personally take care of the needs of widows and orphans.

* He (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) would be the one to initiate the greeting when meeting people.

* He would respond to the humblest of invitations.

* He (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) lived a very
modest lifestyle, a man of soft manners, naturally kind, easy to get along with, having a pleasant smile on his face, gracefully humble, extremely generous but not wasteful.

* Soft-hearted and gentle in his dealings with each and every Muslim, lowering the wings of humility to the believers, bearing their companionship in such a gentle way.”

[Madaarij as-Saalikeen, 3/111-112]

Ibn al-Qayyim said:

“Invoking Allaah’s name al-Qayyum has a special effect in answering du'as and ending afflictions.”

● [الطب النبوي للإمام ابن القيم صحفة ٢٥٧]

Ibn Al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

“The intoxicating effect of loving this world is far more potent than the intoxication that results from drinking alcohol by a long way. The one who is intoxicated by this will not gain his senses until he is in the darkness of his grave, and [if he regains his senses] and the effects of this cease while he is living then he will surely appreciate the extent of intoxication that this worldly life can cause and that it is more severe than alcohol…”

 (‘Uddah As-Saabireen, p. 349

Ostentation, however little, annuls good deeds and (enters by any one of) countless doors. An action incompatible with the observance of the Sunnah is another thing that renders them vain. Boasting in one's heart to God of some good act done, spoils it. Flaunting one's charity, virtue, generosity, personal virtue or liberality towards one's family, ruins these deeds, as Allah has said: 'O you who believe, do not render your almsgiving vain by reminders of your generosity or by injury.'

[Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله, Invocation of God, pg.6]

Imām Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله listed a few consequences of sinning/disobeying Allāh:

• Lack of success
• Corrupt views
• Blindness from truth
• Corruption of the heart
• Failing to remember Allāh
• Wasting of time
• Avoidance and hate by the creation
• Separation between the servant and his Lord
• Supplication not being answered
• Hardness of the heart
• Decaying of blessing in provision and age
• Prevention from attaining knowledge
• Humiliation
• Insults from the enemies
• Constriction of the chest
• Affliction with evil friendship, those who corrupt the heart and make one waste the time
• Prolonging of sadness and grief
• Miserable life
• & Disappointment

All this results from sinning and and neglecting to remember Allāh, just as crops are grown by being watered and are consumed by fire.

● [كتاب الفوائد للإمام ابن القيم صفحة ٦٢]

• Ibn al-Qayyim

Sinning will leave you poor and regretful

al-Fawaa’id, p.340

The blessings which come to the servant from Allah, most High, one after another, what secures them is gratitude (Shukr), based on three supports: inward recognition of the blessing; outward mention and thanks for it; and it's use in a way that pleases the One to whom it truly belongs and who truly bestows it. Acting thus, the servant shows his gratitude for the blessing - however brief.

[Ibn al-Qayyim, Invocation of God, pg.1]
