▪️Saying Salām to Ṣūfīs▪️

⠀⠀Our Shaykh, al-Ḥāfiẓ, al-Muḥaddith, al-Faqīh, ʾAbū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Jumʿān Ibn Ramaḍān Laḥmar (حفظه الله ورعاه) was asked on the 11th of Shawwāl, 1444H:
  📩  "Is it permissible for us to say Salām to Ṣūfīs?"
⠀⠀
⠀⠀🎙️ Shaykh ʾAbū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Jumʿān Ibn Ramaḍān Laḥmar (حفظه الله ورعاه):
"No, do not say Salām to them. This is religion, this is religion. Do not say salām to the Ṣūfī. Similarly, the person of desires, Imām Mālik said about them:
"We don't say Salām to them."

What is the dalīl? One of them said, "Imām Mālik has no dalīl." However, he has alot of evidence, alot of evidence. Al-Nabī ﷺ ordered the Ṣaḥābah to abandon three of the Ṣaḥābah, when they did not partake in the battle of Badr, which was a maʿṣīyyah (sin), and not a bidʿah. Bidʿah is greater than the maʿṣīyyah. Today, the people have it opposite.

You say to a person:
"This person has this and that bidaʿ," and he takes it lightly.

However, if you were to say to him:
"This person commits zinā," he would say, "this is huge!"

If you were to say to him:
"This person does fawāḥish," he would say, "this is huge!"

The person has bidaʿ and he sees bidaʿ to be smaller, and not the opposite. It has become opposite for the people of this time. The sins have become greater than the bidaʿ. What's correct is that a bidʿah is greater than a maʿṣīyyah. For this reason, the Salaf would be strict with them.

A man went to al-ʾAwzāʿī and said:
"السلام عليكم"
And that person was Thawr bin Yazīd.
So, al-ʾAwzāʿī didn't respond to his Salām. When he put forth his hand towards him, he said:
"No! It is religion." After a few statements, he said:
"I fear that today I return his Salām and tomorrow he'll feed me. He will give me something." Khalāṣ, he will have an effect on you.

He ﷺ said about Salām that is has an effect on hearts. Is it correct or not?

He ﷺ said:
"أَوَلاَ أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى شَىْءٍ إِذَا فَعَلْتُمُوهُ تَحَابَبْتُمْ أَفْشُوا السَّلاَمَ بَيْنَكُمْ"
"Should I not direct you to a thing which, if you do, will foster love amongst you: give currency to (saying) al-Salām ʿAlaykum."


Love and likening occurs between them. For this reason, the Salaf used to follow Rasūl Allāh ﷺ in his abandonment of those three Ṣaḥābah when they did not partake in the battle. He ordered the Ṣaḥābah to abandon them.

Kaʿb Ibn Mālik said:
"I went to the house of my cousin, Abū Qatādah, so I said:
'السلام عليكم'
And wAllāhī he did not move his lips to respond to my Salām."

He is Rasūl Allāh ﷺ! Some people say, "you have sternness." No, this is not sternness, rather its a cure for those Mubtadiʿah, Ahl al-Ahwāʾ, Aṣḥāb al-Aḥzāb. Treat them using this, it's their cure and treatment, until they repent, rectify their affairs, fear Allāh عزوجل, and return to the Kitāb and the Sunnah.

إلهنا بارك الله فيك، سبحانك اللهم وبحمدك ولا إله أنت نستغفرك ونتوب إليك."

▪️The Body of Firʿawn in Egypt▪️

⠀⠀Our Shaykh, al-Ḥāfiẓ, al-Muḥaddith, al-Faqīh, ʾAbū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Jumʿān Ibn Ramaḍān Laḥmar (حفظه الله ورعاه) was asked on the 8th of Muḥarram, 1445H:
⠀⠀ 📩⠀⠀"Is it correct that Firʿawn is present in Egypt?"
⠀⠀
⠀⠀🎙️ Shaykh ʾAbū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Jumʿān Ibn Ramaḍān Laḥmar (حفظه الله ورعاه):
"No, no, this is not correct. The corpse (present in Egypt) is not correct. His (Allāh's عزوجل) statement in Sūrah Yūnus:

{لِتَكُونَ لِمَنْ خَلْفَكَ آيَةً}
{...that you may be a sign to those who come after you!}
[Sūrah Yūnus: 92]

Meaning from Banī Isrāʾīl, for that time, when Allāh destroyed him by casting him in the sea, so they see that Firʿawn really died and was destroyed.

{لِمَنْ خَلْفَكَ}
{those who come after you}

"Those with you," like Banī Isrāʾīl. Indeed, some of them suspected whether Firʿawn died or not. Therefore, Allāh ordered the sea to cast him out, so those after him see him.

This is what's correct. This corpse, which is called the corpse of Firʿawn, is not correct. If it were correct, al-Nabī ﷺ would've informed about it, right? He would've said: "Firʿawn is present in Egypt." He ﷺ did not inform us of that, nor did ʿAmr bin al-ʿĀṣ or any of the Companions. Noone said that it was the corpse of Firʿawn. This is the interpretation of the Ḥizbīs. If Ḥizbīs want to spread something which is untrue, they do it like this.

{لِتَكُونَ لِمَنْ خَلْفَكَ آيَةً}

As mentioned by Ibn Kathīr and more than one (of the commentators) about the Āyah, that he (Firʿawn) doesn't remain till today.

{وَمَا جَعَلْنَا لِبَشَرٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ الْخُلْدَ}
{And We granted not to any human being immortality before you (O Muḥammad ﷺ)}
[Sūrah al-Anbiyāʾ: 34]

This is the corpse of a Kāfir, who was destroyed and the earth would eat him if he remained for a long period. Even ʿĪsā, if the corpse of Firʿawn was present, he would've informed of that. Similarly, those after Mūsā. ʿĪsā was after Mūsā عليه الصلاة والسلام."

▪️Touching The Muṣḥaf Without Wuḍūʾ ▪️

⠀⠀Our Shaykh, al-Ḥāfiẓ, al-Muḥaddith, al-Faqīh, ʾAbū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Jumʻān Ibn Ramaḍān Laḥmar (حفظه الله ورعاه) was asked on the 30th of Jumād al-ʾAwwal, 1443H:
⠀⠀📩  "What is the ruling on touching the Muṣḥaf without Wuḍūʾ?"

⠀⠀🎙️ Shaykh ʾAbū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Jumʻān Ibn Ramaḍān Laḥmar (حفظه الله ورعاه):
"It is permissible. Furthermore, al-Nawawī related that if one was upon minor impurity, then he can touch it. This is if he was upon minor impurity, but the prohibition is for the one upon major impurity, like the one upon janābah.

'لا يمسُّ القرآنَ إلَّا طاهرٌ'

'No one touches the Qurʾān except the ṭāhir (the purified).' [Muʿjam al-Ṭabarānī 13217]

Meaning: the one upon janābah.

What's correct is that it's permissible to touch it, regardless of whether it was from junub or by the one who was upon minor impurity, due to the statement of his ﷺ:

'إِنَّ المُؤْمِن لاَ يَنْجَسُ'

'Indeed, the Muʾmin doesn't become impure.'
[Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 371]

And due to the statement of Allāh عز وجل:

{ لَا يَمَسُّهُ إِلَّا الْمُطَهَّرُون }
'None can touch it except al-Muṭahharūn (the purified).' [Sūrah al-Wāqiʿah: 79]

What's meant by "them [al-Muṭahharūn]" are the angels.

As for his statement, ﷺ:

'لا تمسَّ القرآن إلَّا وأنت على طُهر'

'Do not touch the Qurʾān, except if you're upon purification.'

Then this is from the aspect of it being better, due to what is proven in the Ṣaḥīḥayn from the Ḥadīth of ʿĀʾishah (رضي الله عنها):

'افْعَلِي ما يَفْعَلُ الحَاجُّ، غيرَ أنْ لا تَطُوفي بالبَيْتِ'

'Do what the Ḥāj [people performing Ḥajj] do, except doing Ṭawāf around the Kaʿbah.'
[Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 305]

'Do what the Ḥāj do.'

What do the Ḥāj do? The Ḥāj read the Qurʾān, do dhikr of Allāh, do tasbīḥ [saying Subḥān Allāh], do taḥmīd [saying Alḥamdulillāh], do tahlīl [saying Lā ilāhah Illā Allāh], walk between al-Ṣafā and al-Marwah, similarly, they go to Minā and spend the night there, and other things from the ʿibādāt. Indeed it is Ṣalāh that's forbidden upon the Ḥāʾiḍ [menstruating woman]. The condition for Ṣalāh is purity."

▪️Sleeping on one's stomach.▪️

⠀⠀Our Shaykh, al-Ḥāfiẓ, al-Muḥaddith, al-Faqīh, ʾAbū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Jumʻān Ibn Ramaḍān Laḥmar (حفظه الله ورعاه) was asked on the 4th of Muḥarram, 1444H:
📩  "What is the ruling on sleeping on one's stomach? What is the dalīl?"
⠀⠀
⠀⠀🎙️ Shaykh ʾAbū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Jumʻān Ibn Ramaḍān Laḥmar (حفظه الله ورعاه):
"Sleeping on one's stomach is permissible and it's preferred to leave that. He should sleep on his right side, because this is his guidance, ﷺ.

Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) said:
'Sleeping on one's stomach is from the most evil types of sleep.'

This is if you don't have an excuse. However, if he were a medical patient, then there's no problem in doing that. Furthermore, the Ḥadīth is ḍaʿīf:
'It is the sleeping position of the people of fire.'

The Ḥadīth has weakness in it, but it's better to leave that and sleep on his right side or his left side, if he gets tired, or he sleeps on his back."

▪️al-ʿĀlim or al-Shahīd?▪️

⠀⠀Our Shaykh, al-Ḥāfiẓ, al-Muḥaddith, al-Faqīh, ʾAbū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Jumʻān Ibn Ramaḍān Laḥmar (حفظه الله ورعاه) was asked on the 13th of Shawwāl, 1442H:
⠀⠀📩 "Which one is more virtuous, al-ʿĀlim (the scholar) or al-Shahīd (the martyr)?"

⠀⠀🎙️ Shaykh ʾAbū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Jumʻān Ibn Ramaḍān Laḥmar (حفظه الله ورعاه):
"The scholar. This is due to the statement of Allāh عزوجل:

{... فَأُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ مَعَ ٱلَّذِینَ أَنۡعَمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَیۡهِم مِّنَ ٱلنَّبِیِّـۧنَ وَٱلصِّدِّیقِینَ وَٱلشُّهَدَاۤءِ... }

'... they are with those whom Allāh has blessed, from the Prophets, the Ṣiddiqīn, the Shuhadāʾ and the righteous...' [Surah An-Nisāʾ: 69]

And the scholars are from the rank of the Ṣiddiqīn (the upright, righteous, steadfast upon good.)

Also due to the statement of Allāh عزوجل:

{ وَٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦۤ أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ ٱلصِّدِّیقُونَۖ وَٱلشُّهَدَاۤءُ عِندَ رَبِّهِمۡ لَهُمۡ أَجۡرُهُمۡ وَنُورُهُمۡۖ...}

'As for those who believe in Allāh عزوجل and His messengers, it is they who are truly al-Ṣiddiqīn. And the martyrs, with their Lord, will have their reward and their light...' [Surah Al-Ḥadīd: 19]

Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) said:
'The ink of the scholars is more virtuous than the blood of the martyr.'

Allāhu Akbar."

▪️Are live videos and video calls permissible?▪️

⠀⠀Our Shaykh, al-Ḥāfiẓ, al-Muḥaddith, al-Faqīh, ʾAbū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Jumʻān Ibn Ramaḍān Laḥmar (حفظه الله ورعاه) was asked on the 5th of Dhū al-Qaʿdah, 1442H:

⠀⠀📩 "What is the ruling on the one who says Taṣwīr (pictures, images, videos) of live streams/videos is Ḥalāl such as the application Imo (video call) and live television?"

⠀⠀🎙️ Shaykh ʾAbū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Jumʻān Ibn Ramaḍān Laḥmar (حفظه الله ورعاه):
"All of it is Muḥarram (Ḥarām)! Imo, television, all of it is Ḥarām! As for the statement they are Ḥalāl, then this is an incorrect statement. It's obligatory upon them to repent to Allāh, for verily making that which Allāh made Ḥarām, Ḥalāl, is a major sin.

{ وَلَا تَقُولُوا۟ لِمَا تَصِفُ أَلۡسِنَتُكُمُ ٱلۡكَذِبَ هَـٰذَا حَلَـٰلࣱ وَهَـٰذَا حَرَامࣱ لِّتَفۡتَرُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡكَذِبَۚ ...}

'Do not falsely declare with your tongues, 'This is lawful, and that is unlawful,' only fabricating lies against Allāh...' [Sūrah al-Naḥl: 116]

{ قُلۡ مَنۡ حَرَّمَ زِینَةَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّتِیۤ أَخۡرَجَ لِعِبَادِهِۦ وَٱلطَّیِّبَـٰتِ مِنَ ٱلرِّزۡقِۚ...}

'Say —al-Nabī ﷺ— Who has forbidden the adornment which Allāh has brought forth for His slaves or the good things from among the means of sustenance...' [Sūrah al-ʾAʿrāf: 32]

{ قُلۡ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ یَفۡتَرُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡكَذِبَ لَا یُفۡلِحُونَ }
'Say —al-Nabī ﷺ— Indeed, those who fabricate lies against Allāh will never succeed.' [Sūrah Yūnus: 69]

This is a lie upon Allāh عزوجل, to say this is Ḥalāl! Pictures of things possessing souls, whether it's a live broadcast or other than it, all of it is Ḥarām!"

Our Shaykh, Shaykh ʾAbū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Jumʻān Ibn Ramaḍān Laḥmar (حفظه الله ورعاه), delivered a very beneficial Khuṭbah this week, 10th of Muḥarram 1445H, on the blessed day of ʿĀshūrā. The Shaykh حفظه الله mentions some of the greatest methods of having your sins expiated.

We ask Allāh عزوجل to make it a means of benefit for the Muslim Ummah.




▪️Joining the Ṣalāh during Rukūʿ▪️

⠀⠀Our Shaykh, al-Ḥāfiẓ, al-Muḥaddith, al-Faqīh, ʾAbū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Jumʻān Ibn Ramaḍān Laḥmar (حفظه الله ورعاه) was asked on the 7th of Dhū al-Qaʿdah, 1442H:

⠀⠀📩 "I entered the Masjid and the Imām entered Rukūʿ', do I join him in Rukūʿ or wait for him to get out of it? Which one is more virtuous?"

⠀⠀🎙️ Shaykh ʾAbū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Jumʻān Ibn Ramaḍān Laḥmar (حفظه الله ورعاه):
"Enter Ruku' with him, due to the statement of al-Nabī ﷺ:
'If he (the Imām) enters Rukūʿ then enter Rukūʿ.' [al-Bukhārī and Muslim.]

Then after that when the Imām gives Salām, stand and repeat the Rakʿah.

'There is no Ṣalāh for the one who does not recite the Fātiḥah of The Book.' " [al-Bukhārī and Muslim.]

▪️Our Mother, ʿĀʾishah, is free from their slander.▪️

⠀⠀Our Shaykh, al-Ḥāfiẓ, al-Muḥaddith, al-Faqīh, ʾAbū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Jumʻān Ibn Ramaḍān Laḥmar (حفظه الله ورعاه) was asked on the 29th of Rabīʿ al-Thānī, 1442H:

⠀⠀📩 "Verily, the Rāfiḍah are saying, "the ayāt that came down to declare ʿĀʾishah's innocence was not meant for her but rather it was meant for another woman."

⠀⠀🎙️ Shaykh ʾAbū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Jumʻān Ibn Ramaḍān Laḥmar (حفظه الله ورعاه):
⠀⠀"Liars! They are the biggest liars of the creation!
With agreement, there is no difference of opinion! Even between those that are insane and those that are rational! The Rāfiḍah are the biggest liars of the creation! Even compared to the beasts! Even the walls! If they were able to utter it, they would say that the Rāfiḍah are the biggest liars of the creation!

(this) ʿAqīdah! Establish this in your heart. Establish it in your heart!
That the Rāfiḍah are the biggest liars of the creation! With no doubt nor suspicion! It's witnessed by the entirety of the thaqalayn! (humans and jinns.) The creation in it's entirety which Allāh (عزوجل) has created witness that the Rāfiḍah are liars.
Liars, deceivers, dajjālūn! (cheaters, charlatans, deluded.)

May Allāh (عزوجل) kill them, how deluded they are."

▪️6 Golden advices for strengthening one's memory!▪️

⠀⠀Our Shaykh, al-Ḥāfiẓ, al-Muḥaddith, al-Faqīh, ʾAbū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Jumʻān Ibn Ramaḍān Laḥmar (حفظه الله ورعاه) was asked on the 1st of Dhū al-Qaʿdah, 1442H:

⠀⠀📩 "I am weak in memorizing and want to memorize the Qurʾān, what do you advise me?"

⠀⠀🎙️ Shaykh ʾAbū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Jumʻān Ibn Ramaḍān Laḥmar (حفظه الله ورعاه):
"I advise you by:
▪️al-ʾIstiʿānah (seeking the aid, blessing and guidance) of Allāh (عزوجل), ask Allāh (عزوجل)!
▪️and abandoning sins... abandon your sins! and Allāh (عزوجل) will give you a good memory.
▪️Furthermore, a good recitation also. Read a page thoroughly.
▪️Also, Murājaʿah (revision, going over what you've memorized), for verily it will strengthen your memorization.
▪️Appoint for yourself a student you can recite with, be companions together in reciting.
▪️Pray with that which you have memorized and stand reciting in the night, that will strengthen your memorization, by the permission of Allāh (عزوجل)."
