Introducing omafil - a file manager for OmarchyOmarchy is a Hyprland desktop. Tiling, keyboard-first, terminal-centric, themed end to end. Then you press
SUPER+SHIFT+F and get Nautilus, a GNOME file manager with GNOME's assumptions, sitting in the middle of a desktop built around none of them.
It works.
It just doesn't belong. It doesn't know your theme, terminal, editor, or window manager. So I built
omafil, a file manager designed specifically for Omarchy.
Built for OmarchyTheme-aware: follows colors.toml and icon theme inheritance, with live theme switching.
Terminal-aware: F4 opens your configured terminal through xdg-terminal-exec.
Editor-aware: uses omarchy-launch-editor.
Omarchy-integrated: available in the launcher and works as the inode/directory handler.
Hyprland-native: designed around tiling, with no pointless minimize or maximize buttons.
Keyboard-first: optional Vim navigation with j/k/h/l, gg/G, and /.
A real file managerUndo operations: moves, copies, renames, and deletes, with the last 50 operations tracked.
Cancellable operations: byte-level progress without leaving half-written files behind.
Archive support: tar, zst, xz, gz, bz2, lz4, 7z, iso, cab, rar, zip.
