Forward from: The essence of love,
As I had read in stories and heard in poetry,
Could someone truly be this beautiful?
I often tell myself...
“These writers just embellish things.
Can time really stand still
when you catch someone’s gaze?
Can everything else disappear
when you simply look at them?”
So many times, I would laugh at books and poetic lines.
And then she came
Her presence seemed to silence every sound.
In the hustle of the world,
only her soft laughter echoed.
It felt as if everything had come to a standstill around her.
I just stood there,
under some kind of spell,
unable to speak, unable to move.
Every word I ever had
seemed meaningless in front of her.
As if she was a dream
so beautiful
that I feared if I blinked, she might disappear.
In that moment,
I realized that writers don’t lie,
that some people are truly
one of God’s unique creations.
And I?
I just began to search for my existence
in her shadow.
If only
that moment could have lasted,
her smile never fading,
and that face,
forever etched in my eyes.
But like every beautiful dream’s end,
that moment passed too.
And I,
left standing there,
carrying a universe of memories in my heart.
Could someone truly be this beautiful?
