In the southern part of Karshi Registan, a brilliant example of architectural ingenuity awaits you: the Sardoba.π
Meaning "cold water" in the Persian-Tajik language, the Sardoba is a remarkable water structure that was popular in Central Asia.
π«Karshi was a significant hub for the construction of Sardobas, particularly along the major caravan routes. Historical archives reveal that approximately 44 Sardobas existed in Central Asia, with 29 of them located in Karshi. This not only highlights the architectural prowess of Karshi but also speaks to the ingenuity and problem-solving abilities of the people who resided there.
β€οΈToday, the Sardoba has become the official symbol of the Karshi City logotype, serving as a testament to its historical significance and architectural splendor.
