I weep for the young men who barely got out of their teenage years,
Going to war spilling their blood, sweat, and tears,
I weep for the civilians,
Losing everything despite their innocence,
I weep for the children
Their pureness didn't deserve to be tainted by all this horrific torment,
I weep for the plants, and the animal kingdom,
Rotting and dying unnecessarily to satisfy our primal egoism,
I weep for Mother Earth the war had desecrated,
She was scarred and violated,
I weep for everyone and everything,
Affected by war that was indiscriminately punishing,
I weep for us all, for humanity.

I've talked to some people who said that they wanted to be numb. As someone who has been emotionally numb for years, I say think again.

Why? Because numbness works both ways. You might not feel pain, but you won't feel happiness either. It's a torture on its own.

Barely anything phases you. Oh, something suppose to make you happy? Yeah, cool. Whatever. Hearing a bad thing happened to a family member? You'd barely flinch. You'd struggle to feel and receive affection from those around you and in turn, it's difficult for you to give proper affection, too. Trust me, you don't want this kind of life.

You might be in pain now, but it's okay. It will pass. You can get through it, you always do. I'm proud of you. But become numb?

Think again, friends.
