The higher Masons (Princes and Mystics) deliberately deceive the Masons below them. For example, Albert Pike was one of the highest authorities in American Freemasonry. He was Grand Commander of the Southern Jurisdiction of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry from 1859 to 1891. He was also Grand Commander of the Thirty-Third Degree, as well as a Mystic Prince.
