🇷🇺🇧🇾🇳🇮"Taste of Friendship": Russia, Belarus and Nicaragua hold joint cultural evening
✨On 29 September, the Russian House in Brussels hosted "Taste of Friendship", a cultural and culinary evening organised jointly with the Embassies of Russia, Belarus and Nicaragua in Belgium. The event highlighted the cultural heritage and culinary traditions of the three countries.
💫The evening brought together heads and staff members of more than 15 diplomatic missions representing countries of the Global Majority, members of the Belgian public, as well as Russian, Belarusian and Nicaraguan compatriots.
🇷🇺In his address, Russian Ambassador to Belgium D.V. Gonchar recalled the Russian-Nicaraguan literary and musical evening held at the Russian House in February and welcomed the participation of Belarusian colleagues in this format. Speaking about the theme of the gathering, the Russian Ambassador said:
🇧🇾Chargé d’Affaires of Belarus in Belgium S.K. Panasyuk noted that even vast geographical distances cannot prevent Russia, Belarus and Nicaragua from developing close ties based on genuine friendship, mutual respect and cultural affinity. He described their interaction as an example of open and equal dialogue.
🇳🇮Nicaraguan Ambassador to Belgium S. Castañeda Lacayo expressed his appreciation to the Russian and Belarusian diplomatic missions and the Russian House in Brussels for their cooperation. He stressed the importance of such joint initiatives in further strengthening friendly relations between the three countries.
🖼️The programme also featured an exhibition dedicated to Russia’s natural heritage and the architectural uniqueness of its cities and churches. As part of the Year of Women in Belarus, celebrated in the country in 2026, guests were presented with an exhibition highlighting the achievements of Belarusian women in modern science, space exploration and sport.
💃🏻The cultural programme continued with music and dance performances showcasing the rich traditions of Russia, Belarus and Nicaragua. The evening concluded with a tasting of dishes from the three national cuisines — the "taste of friendship" that gave the event its name.

"Cuisine is a reflection of a nation’s history, culture, traditions and, in a sense, its soul. Russia is particularly rich in this respect: its culinary heritage has been shaped by the traditions of more than 190 peoples living in the country and is the result of thousands of years of cultural exchange and mutual enrichment".
