Prince Rupert's drops are toughened glass beads created by dripping molten glass into cold water, which causes it to solidify into a tadpole-shaped droplet with a long, thin tail.
It's head is extremely strong but it's tail is extremely fragile. The head can withstand a bullet, but even a slight hit on the tail can break the whole structure.

After the glass is dropped into the water, the outside layer of glass cools while the inside stays relatively hot. The outer layer of glass shrinks as it cools and forms a solid shape.
When the glass core of the drop eventually cools, the molecules inside have no where to shrink to because the outer layer is already set, so they pull toward each other, creating a super high tension inside the bulb, which eventually hardens. This tension is released when the tail is even slightly tweaked, it releases a cascade of energy that propagates the entirety of the tail and bulb, exploding it outward.

The black solution is an iodine starch complex and the clear solution contains thiosulfate ions. When mixed, the thiosulfate reduces the iodine to iodide, which destroys the complex and the color disappears.

by touching it, and it reacts explosively with almost
anything organic.

Parachute flower
> Scientific name: Ceropegia woodii
> Main habitat: Western Australia

The parachute flower, native to southern Africa, is one of nature’s fraudsters with a weird hair-flecked tongue-like feature in its center. The flower’s smell beckons insects inside. Once there, the insects are trapped but not eaten by the plant. They are kept inside until the hairs of the plant wither away. When the insects escape, they are cloaked with the flower’s pollen.

During daily sessions in the lab, participants were trained to use the Thumb focusing on tasks that helped increase the cooperation between their hand and the Thumb, such as picking up multiple balls or wine glasses with one hand. They learned the basics of using the Thumb very quickly, while the training enabled them to successfully improve their motor control, dexterity and hand-Thumb coordination. Participants were even able to use the Thumb when distracted -- building a wooden block tower while doing a maths problem -- or while blindfolded.
