Q: What is the word count?
A: Min 450, Max 750 words
Q: Will my name be kept secret?A: Yes, if you want that. In the application you are asked to provide both your real name and a nickname if you want to remain anonymous. So that’s up to you entirely.
Q: Is there any criteria in choosing the essays?A: Yes. Be reflective. That’s the main criteria.
Q: Does it have to be about some hardship I overcame or struggles I face right now?A: No, what you write about is entirely up to you.
Q: Can I use Common App Essay for this project?A: Yes, but keep in mind that you are writing this not for a university but a book that will get published. You can certainly tailor your Common App essay to make it less focused on university and more on yourself.
Q: What if my English is not good?A: Write as best as you can, seek help. If we like your story but think that it needs some editing, we will reach out to you to help improve grammatical accuracy. But at the end of the day, it’s your story and we want to keep it authentic.
Q: When and where will the book get published?A: On Amazon so that those living outside of Uzbekistan could also purchase the book AND in Uzbekistan in Tashkent for everyone living here. The book will get published shortly after having collected all the stories, that is, somewhere in spring.
Q: What will be with the money earned through selling the book?A: The money will be given to charity. Which fund exactly tho, will see later.
