French Youth Take the Streets against a Bleak Future

Thousands of teenagers have taken the streets of France, clashing with police as they demonstrate against the deplorable conditions in their high schools and a rapidly collapsing future.

Our correspondents in Paris explore the situation in detail.

https://crimethinc.com/France2026

The unrest among young people in France is a promising sign, shifting attention from the seemingly unstoppable rise of the extreme right to the question of what people can do on a grassroots basis to defend themselves and assert their interests against the state and the capitalists who control it.

Since July 27, brave people have been occupying an ancient cottonwood tree to block the construction of Trump's border wall, which is destroying the region's ecology.

This morning, Border Patrol raided the camp, arresting a number of people and killing the tree.

«Si gana Bolsonaro, nos matan; si gana Lula, nos dejan morir»

Sobre las elecciones de 2026 en Brasil

https://crimethinc.com/2026/09/29/si-gana-bolsonaro-nos-matan-si-gana-lula-nos-dejan-morir-sobre-las-elecciones-de-2026-en-brasil

Days before the Brazilian elections, people barricaded the roads of downtown Belo Horizonte to demonstrate against evictions and gentrification.

Regardless of electoral outcomes, we will only win what we build the power to defend.

Active Distribution has produced a pocketbook version of "Every Flag Is Black in a Fire," our history of the black flag as a symbol of anarchism.

Authors and artists from across a century and a half explore the meaning of the black flag, the anarchist standard of rebellion and negation. Featuring Louise Michel, the Haymarket Martyrs, Sergei Eisenstein, André Breton, Jean Genet, Léo Ferré, and more.

“If Bolsonaro wins, they kill us; if Lula wins, they let us die.”

https://crimethinc.com/Brazil2026

The far right is taking power all around Latin America. This weekend, Brazil will choose whether to return Lula to office or put Bolsonaro's son in power.

Our Brazilian comrades explore the stakes, arguing that only grassroots direct action can address Brazil's problems.

ICE arrests have soared to record highs over the few months, as ICE agents work with cops and courts to disappear people while avoiding public visibility.

We urgently need new points of intervention to make this tragedy visible and take action.

Here are some starting points:

https://crimethinc.com/MeltICE

If it was urgent to respond to ICE when Trump reentered office—if it was urgent to respond to ICE when they were murdering people on the streets in Minnesota—it is even more urgent today, when they are arresting record numbers of people.

Anyone can be defined as a criminal by the flick of a pen. These brutal roundups set a precedent that threatens us all.

“Never Again”: Czechoslovakian Hardcore in the Syrian Civil War

Anarchists who participated as internationalist volunteers in the fight to defend Rojava against the Islamic State describe the role that the anti-militarist song “Už Nikdy” (“Never Again”) by the Czechoslovakian hardcore band Kritická Situace played in their experience.

Apply Heat, Melt ICE: A Guide to Resisting ICE around the Country this October

https://crimethinc.com/MeltICE

All around the United States, people are organizing to resist the federal mercenaries who carry out Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Here, we announce three upcoming mobilizations and share reports from two recent confrontations.

In Arizona, people have been blocking the construction of the border wall since July 27; they are calling for people from around the country to come join them.

In the Twin Cities, people are calling for a countrywide day of action on October 3 to express solidarity with the Minnesota 15, who have been federally charged for allegedly conspiring to resist Operation Metro Surge.

In Vermont, people have organized a week of action for October 4-9 and are inviting people to come participate or carry out solidarity actions elsewhere.

Clashes with federal mercenaries have recently broken out in Austin, Texas and Frederick, Maryland.

Thank you to everyone who took the street in Austin on September 20 after ICE mercenaries shot Wilber Rafael Garces Perez while he was making a DoorDash delivery.

It is essential to mount an immediate response to acts of violence like this, the way that people did when Alex Pretti was killed.

At the same time, an increasing number of ICE abductions are occurring behind closed doors, in coordination with the police and courts.

However liberal the local authorities are, you can be certain that the police are working hand-in-glove with ICE.

Resisting ICE necessitates resisting the police.

15 people have been federally indicted for allegedly playing a role in the Twin Cities' historic resistance to ICE. The Trump regime is trying to make an example of them to intimidate all of us out of standing up to protect our communities. It won't work!

On Saturday, October 3, the Minnesota 15 Anti-Repression Committee is calling for a national day of solidarity actions to express support for the defendants and all those targeted by ICE. Plan an action at your local ICE office or federal building!

DEFEND THE MINNESOTA 15

Abolish ICE!
Return the abducted and deported!
Drop the charges!

The White Whale: A Tale of Toil and Freedom

A punk band traveling the world in a free van held together only by duct tape and distortion? It sounds like a whale of a tale, but everything you’re about to read is true times two.

https://crimethinc.com/vanzine

How do punks manage to travel internationally, fight the forces of authority, and dedicate their lives to making art without being independently wealthy? In this testimony, two participants in the punk underground describe how they wrested a vehicle from the economy and kept it running through a series of trials and tribulations.

We will be tabling at the anarchist book fairs in Asheville, North Carolina this weekend and New York City the following weekend—and a punk festival in Eugene, Oregon that weekend, as well. Come equip yourself with zines, books, stickers, and posters!

A New Issue of Inside Front

https://crimethinc.com/InsideFront15

The hardcore journal Inside Front was one of the first projects to bring together people who still collaborate on CrimethInc. projects today. No new issue has appeared since 2003.

Until now.

Last year, ahead of the release shows for the Catharsis album “Hope against Hope,” the team behind Inside Front suddenly came out of retirement and threw together a new issue of the magazine.

Finally, we present the PDF, so you can print, read, and distribute it yourself.

"For anarcho-punks and hardcore anarchists!"

“The question is,” said Alice, “whether you can make words mean so many different things.”

“The question is,” said Humpty Dumpty, “which is to be master—that’s all.”

There are two ways to become ungovernable. One is to seize power—the other is to abolish it.

The Republicans rode to power under Donald Trump by pretending to represent rebellion. Now everyone can see how false their claims were, but they have no intention to relinquish power.

It will take a real rebellion to unseat them. Nothing less.

On September 11, 2001, two young anarchist organizers who had traveled to DC to prepare for the mobilization against the International Monetary Fund found themselves standing before the flaming Pentagon, looking into the burning future that we now inhabit.

Here is their story.

https://crimethinc.com/craziestwalk

Though the scheduled IMF protests were cancelled, thousands still gathered in DC on September 30, 2001 for what were effectively the first anti-war protests of the 21st century, opposing the US invasion of Afghanistan when no one else dared criticize the bilateral warmongering of the US government.

This narrative is a time capsule from another era, affording us a glimpse of what we lost when the proponents of the "War on Terror" managed to stifle the anti-capitalist movements of the turn of the century—and thereby offering us some perspective on our present.
