AFCON 2025 Qualifier: Nigeria vs Benin – Key Details

Nigeria’s Super Eagles will face Benin in their opening match for the 2025 AFCON qualifiers. This will be their second encounter in four months, following Benin’s 2-1 win in their June World Cup qualifier.

AFCON 2025 qualifier: Super Eagles must beat Benin Republic – Simon

Moses Simon says it is important for the Super Eagles to start their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign with a win.

The West Africans will host neighbours, Benin Republic in a matchday one encounter at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Saturday.

Gernot Rohr’s side defeated the Super Eagles 2-1 the last time the two teams met in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier in June.

14 players are currently in the Super Eagles camp in Uyo ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixtures against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
