People don their spectacles, oversized and disproportionate, as if to shield themselves from reality. For reality is seldom embraced; it is far more convenient to cloak one’s self-destructive path with phrases like «it’s all for the sake of advancement» or «we must accommodate and assist the collective». Everyone seeks to evade, rationalize, and gild the grim weight of their existence.
