Bailigh sibh roinnt Gaeilge agus caill sibh an béarla.
Is fearr Gaeilge briste ná béarla cliste.
Sin fíric atá ann!

Swords>man made laws

"Do not think I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but the sword!... When I sent you out without money belt, bag of provisions, or even extra sandals, did you lack anything??... But now, the one who has a money belt must take it and likewise a bag of provisions. And the one who has no sword must sell his cloak and buy one."
-Jesus
Matthew 10:34;
Luke 22:35,36

"Son of Adam, receive into your heart all My words which I will speak to you and listen closely."
-God Almighty
Ezekiel 3:10

"In order to find his equal an Irishman is forced to talk to God."

A woman praying at the holy well beside Doon Rock in the Late 1800s. The well is said to have healing powers and you're supposed to tie your bandages to a tree beside the well or leave your crutches behind, once you're cured. The photo of the modern crutches is from 2016, so it seems to still do the job.

More rubbish about "the prevalence of mental illness among the Irish"... This one targeting the diaspora in America...

"Why is it that such a stereotypically cheery and happy lot such as the Irish and Irish Americans suffer so disproportionately from mental illness compared to other ethnic groups?"

There is nothing wrong with your beautiful Irish mind...

Don't let them medicate ya.
Don't let them dim your "tallann feirge".
Don't let them take away your "bua na fáistine".

https://libapps.libraries.uc.edu/exhibits/irish-cincinnati/2017/02/27/the-prevalence-of-mental-illness-in-irish-americans-the-three-theories/

They say mental "illness". They want to send us to "anger management", drug us up and make us passive...
If you aren't upset about the injustices in the world, if seeing your people trampled on and enslaved doesn't make you feel some sort of way, then you are not Irish.
We are meant to be the stewards of the world, we are meant to get upset and distressed, and to fight to make things right.
Getting drugged up, rolling over and accepting things as they've become is not who we are.

"Tallann feirge"... I've see translated "warp-spasm" and "fit of rage", and more literally, "talent for anger"... is an Irish virtue, a heroic attribute as described in 'Táin Bó Cúailnge' as experienced by one of our National heros, Cúchulainn....

"The first tallann feirge seized Cúchulainn, and made him into a monstrous thing, hideous and shapeless, unheard of. His shanks and his joints, every knuckle and angle and organ from head to toe, shook like a tree in the flood or a reed in a steam... His heart boomed loud in his breast like the baying of a watch-dog at its feed or the sound of a lion among bears. Malignant mists and spurts of fire -the touches of Badb- flickered red in the vaporous clouds that rose boiling above his head... Cúchulainn then went into the middle of them and beyond, and mowed down great ramparts of his enemies' corpses, circling around them three times, attacking them in hatred. They fell sole to sole and neck to headless neck, so dense was that destruction... a bed of them six deep... Any count or estimate of the rabble who fell there is unknown, and unknowable... And when the battle was over Cúchulainn left without a scratch or a stain on himself, his helper or either of his horses."

Irish love to laugh, dance, and play a tune. We are the most fun loving, easy going people on the planet, but don't be afraid to embrace your tallann feirge... It is a gift and a virtue. It's ok to look around at the state of things and be upset. The problem is not with your wonderful mind, but with the state of the world.
Don't let them medicate ya.
Don't let them dim your "tallann feirge".

Barnesmore (literally "The Big Gap", commonly referred to "The Gap") is a mountain pass through the Bluestack Mountains. Back in Gaelic times it was where the Tír Chonaill army would muster. The main core of the army would head south and clans would join as they went.

Fighters who came along the foot of the hills from the west of the county like the Boyles and McGraths would meet with the O Donnells and Dohertys as they came through the Gap to Donegal Town. From there they would cross the river Erne at Ballyshannon and head south. The march to the Battle of Kinsale was the final time such a gathering took place.

Muiredach’s High Cross, Monasterboice, county Louth, Ireland: early 10th century AD. 🇮🇪

Muiredach’s cross is thus called because of an Irish inscription at the base of the west face of the cross: “Ór do Muiredach las ndernad in chros” (“A prayer for Muiredach who had this cross made”). The cross is considered the most beautiful high cross ever made, as well as Ireland’s greatest contribution to European sculpture.

There are conflicting theories and no real consensus as to the origin of the famous “Celtic cross”, of which this one is an example. Some of those theories are explored in these articles, which also offer some details about the cross itself and the decoration on its panels:

Britons are ashamed to be poor, but they are not ashamed to support their own government's decisions that contribute to that poverty

The other day, the British criticized the Asda retailer for its bright yellow packaging. The fact is that the company has developed the packaging design of its new line of inexpensive products in dazzling colors. The budget range includes food, toiletries and necessities. And now, when buyers fill their baskets and carts with bright yellow goods, this color puts on them "markers of poverty". Previously, the packaging was white.

Dear Britons, you got off on the wrong foot. It is necessary to address questions and complaints not to the retailer, but to yourself. Why did I buy these goods? Why can I no longer afford more expensive products and necessities? Why has my government reduced society to poverty? What can I do about it?

And then – it is on the streets with posters. After all, British parliamentarians do not face such problems as "budget goods". They may not be aware of such a terribly uncomfortable situation with bright yellow labels. They need to be told about it.

There's murder cases all across the North that are the exact same. The British executed people and just blatantly covered it up. I mentioned before that my father was marked for execution because he was an anti HBlock campaigner, he was lucky. Other politicians on both sides of the border were executed in their homes in front of their families. Invariably there always turns out to be a "vital piece of evidence missing". The Glenane gang were a British govt terror squad, they'd go around at night and go to a targets house to execute them. Turned out "the vital evidence" were numerous footprints of British army boots that was only mentioned in files that were suddenly lost once anyone asked for them.

Last week 28 years ago in Tyrone the British government marked a man for execution, he wasn't home at the time so they machine gunned his 7 month pregnant wife to death in front of her children. When the family had first built and moved into their house a few years before, the British army landed and ransacked it, smashed windows and tore the place up. This week has its "unsolved" murder anniversaries, last week had its ones and next week will have its own.

Currently the British government are trying to pass a law so those murderers are all free and clear, to be given total and absolute immunity.

If there's any British following this channel, please mention it somewhere, 99% of brits don't even think about the North, but it just can't be allowed happen.

"The defenders of this realm have worked well in secret and in the open. They think they have pacified Ireland. They think that they have purchased half of us and intimidated the other half. They think that they have provided against everything. But the fools. The fools. The fools!- They have left us our fenian dead. And while Ireland holds these graves. Ireland unfree shall never be at peace".

- P.H Pearse

The Irish History Documentaries channel on Odysee now has over 450 videos on its channel. Rather than watching whatever filth is being pumped out on Netflix/Amazon - have a watch of some of these.

Troubles Playlist (Currently 43 documentaries)
General Irish Nationalist Playlist (69 documentaries)
Hands Series 1978 -1989 ( 37 documentaries - very comfy series)
Reeling in the Year 1962 - 2009 (48 videos)
Smaller Playlists

Next to be uploaded will be the 111 episode ''1916 Rising Oral History'' series which will hopefully be up over the next few months but plenty there as is, enjoy!

The first full song I ever learn in Irish was "Bí thusa mo shúile", "Be thou my vision" in English. The version as Gaeilge feels more like a prayer to me than the English version and like to sing it acapella sean-nós style with probably way too much ornamentation.
It was also one of the first songs I learned on the whistle and on the fiddle.
