US conducts first live fire test of IRON DOME BATTERY in New Mexico, according to statement

A US Army Iron Dome battery completed a live fire test for the first time, intercepting live targets in New Mexico, according to a statement from the Israeli Defense Ministry.

“[Delivering] Iron Dome to the US Army once again demonstrates the close relations between the Israel Ministry of Defense and the US Department of Defense,” Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz said at the time.

Israel and the US signed an agreement in 2019 for the delivery of two Iron Dome batteries. The first being delivered in September 2020 and the second in early 2021.
