The Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Bahrain, H.E. Dr. Alexey Skosyrev, received Amier Almousa, Director of the Centre for the Development of Islamic Finance of the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI), at the Russian Embassy.

During the meeting, Mr. Almousa outlined the activities of AAOIFI’s Office in Kazan and its engagement with Russian financial institutions to promote partnership-based financing in Russia, facilitate the exchange of professional expertise and strengthen cooperation with financial market participants.

Both sides underscored the importance of further developing dialogue with international partners, sharing expertise and implementing international standards in the field of Islamic finance. They noted that expanding such engagement is particularly important amid sanctions-related restrictions, offering Russian financial institutions additional opportunities to develop international ties, explore alternative financing mechanisms and strengthen cooperation with foreign partners. These efforts also open up further prospects for expanding Russian-Bahraini economic cooperation.
