Are you a SCP —
Object No.: SCP-173
Object class: Euclid
Special conditions of detention: The SCP-173 object must be permanently stored in a closed container. When personnel visit the container with SCP-173, at least three people must enter the container, and the door must be immediately locked behind them. Two persons must maintain direct eye contact with SCP-173 at all times until all employees have left the container and it is locked.
Description: Brought to Zone 19 in 1993. The origin is still unknown. It is made of concrete and reinforcement with traces of Krylon brand aerosol paint. SCP-173 is animated and extremely hostile. The object cannot move while it is in line of sight. Eye contact should never be disrupted when working with SCP-173. Personnel assigned to enter the container are instructed to warn each other before blinking. The object is reported to attack by breaking the neck at the base of the skull, or by strangulation. In the event of an attack, personnel must take measures to contain dangerous objects of Class 4.
The staff reports screeching coming from the container when no one is present inside. This is considered normal, and any changes in this behavior should be reported immediately to the current HMCL supervisor.
The reddish-brown substance on the floor is a mixture of faeces and blood. The origin of these substances is unknown. The enclosures should be cleaned every two weeks.
You are a class — Keter
It is assigned to those objects that show obvious and active hostility towards human life, civilization and/or space‑time and are capable of causing significant destruction in case of violation of the conditions of detention. Such objects should be catalogued, maintained in accordance with special containment conditions and, if possible, destroyed.
By itself, hostility towards human life is not a reason for assigning a Keter class to an object. The Keter class shows that an object is not only capable and trying to harm human life and civilization, but also that extensive and complex maintenance protocols are necessary to prevent the impact of an object, which must be followed exactly. Research in the field of neutralization of Keter class facilities is always the highest priority for the Foundation.
Cases when objects of the Keter class are received for maintenance instead of neutralization by employees of the Foundation are rare. They can be divided into three main categories. Firstly, a number of objects cannot be physically destroyed due to obvious invulnerability or similar reasons. Secondly, there is a certain class of "Keters" that are of great tactical importance to the Fund. Thirdly, there are a number of objects, the neutralization of which threatens to cause greater harm to humanity than preservation in its current form.
The Foundation has managed to channel the abilities of some Keter class facilities into peaceful channels, but such situations are rare exceptions. For example, SCP‑076 agreed to work with the Foundation only because of its unusual relationship with the agent [DELETED] and the facility's ability to communicate with us, but even this did not last long. Most Keters are inanimate objects, and many of them are inanimate. This status may change in the course of further research and discoveries.
"Keter" (כתר) in Hebrew means "crown"; this is the highest level of Sephiroth in Kabbalah.
