Excellence of Fasting on the Day of Arafah:

The ninth day of Dhul-Hijjah is the day of ’Arafah, since it is on this day that the pilgrims gather at the mountain plain of ’Arafah, praying and supplicating to their Lord.

It is mustahabb (highly recommended) for those who are not pilgrims to fast on this day, since the Prophet (صلي الله عليه وسلم) was asked about fasting on the day of ’Arafah, so he said, “It expiates the sins of the past year and the coming year.” [4]

Likewise, the Prophet (صلي الله عليه وسلم) said, ‘There is no day on which Allaah frees people from the Fire more so than on the day of ’Arafah. He comes close to those (people standing on ’Arafah), and then He revels before His Angels saying, ‘What are these people seeking.” [5]

Imaam at-Tirmidhee (d.275H) – rahimahullaah – said, “The People of Knowledge consider it recommended to fast on the day of ’Arafah, except for those at ’Arafah.” [6]

[5] Related by Muslim (no. 1348), from ’Aa‘ishah (radiyallaahu ’anhaa).

Farewell Dua For Ramadan

"Ya Allah this blessed month of Ramadan is now coming to an end, please help me to remain steadfast in your Deen. Grant me the knowledge of Deen. Ya Allah, you are truly merciful, please forgive me. Choose for me, what is best. Ya Allah help me to succeed in this life and the hereafter. Ya Allah, if I have been in anyway ungrateful, unjust, dishonest; please forgive me. Ya Allah, I don't know if I'll be alive next Ramadan, please forgive me. Grant me a place in paradise. Save me from hell fire. Ya Allah, include me in the people who will be put in heaven without accountibility. Ya Allah, help me to spread your Deen in the best of ways. Ya Allah please let me not be among the backbitters. Ya Allah forgive me if I have been among the arrogant. Ya Allah forgive me and the person who sent this to me. Grant us success. Verily you are most forgiving, most merciful."

Ameen!

"I do not know any specific thing in receiving the month of Ramadhan, except that the Muslim receives it with happiness, delight, joy and gratitude to Allah that He made him reach Ramadhan and gave him tawfeeq (success) and made him from those that are alive that compete in righteous action. For indeed the reaching of Ramadhan is a great blessing from Allaah; that is why the Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم used to give glad tidings to his companions due to the entering of Ramadhan, showing (them) its virtue and what Allaah prepared in it for those who fast and stand in (night) prayer, from great reward. And it is legislated for the Muslim, that he receives this honoured month (shahr kareem), with sincere repentance and preparing for its (Ramadhan’s) fasting and qiyaam (standing in prayer) with a sincere intention and truthful determination."

Shaikh Abdul Aziz Ibn Baz, Majmoo’ Al Fatawa Volume: 15, Page 9

Powerful Tips for the Last 10 Nights

1. Do not let your 'performance' until now affect your last 10 days. The moment of forgiveness could be today or anytime in the coming days! It is not all lost! If you sincerely wish it could have been better - Chin up and get ready to make it your best yet! Start with a positive, sincere intention!

2. Today, take a little time to read the Tafseer of Surah al-Qadr to understand what actually happens this night! You will feel its power & greatness so much more!

3. Do not wait for the 27th Night to give it your "all". The entire last 10 days should be your target. Stay up each night! Would you want to miss Laylatul Qadr even "by chance"?

4. Do not fall into any innovations/celebrations any masjid or culture might try to promote. Follow the Sunnah! The Prophet (sallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam) guided us simply: "Whoever stays up and prays on Laylat al-Qadr out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.”

5. Memorize and keep asking the dua' taught by Rasulullah (sallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam): Allaahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibb al-‘afwa fa’affu ‘anni (O Allaah, You are forgiving and You love forgiveness, so forgive me).

6. Prepare a short dua' list. Remember this is as awesome as it ever gets for a servant of Allah! The Night of Qadr, of Destiny! Consciously pick each and everything you crucially wish for in this dunya, in your deen, family, and in your aakhirah! Don't forget to include the brothers and sisters around the world who are suffering and in grief!

7. Take brief naps during the day, if possible. Keep your stomach light and sleep as soon as you have prayed 'isha. Do not delay! After a brief nap, refresh yourself and get. ready for worship.

8. Don't neglect your family! Rasulullah made it a point to wake up his wives throughout these nights! And yes, your children are not too young to stay up some part of the night - if they can be allowed to play video games or watch TV, they can be inspired to be up atleast for sometime! Prepare them, make them excited, plan some activities for them to do!

9. Look the Part: The way we dress and prepare.has a big effect on our psychology. Wear your best, perfume yourself, and feel the energy!

10. Choose a spot, whether in the Masjid or in your home, where you can have peace and solitude. Keep your mushaf, praying mat, and water at hand so that you are not distracted by constantly getting up for this or that.

11. IMP: This is not the night to tweet pics or update FB statuses about how amazing the night is and how you are feeling & worshipping Allah! Let that be a secret between you & your Rabb! So switch off those phones, wifi, laptops and computers. Disconnect with the world, and connect with al-'Afuww!

12. If you find yourself feeling sleepy, vary your acts of worship. Alternate between qiyaam, heartfelt dua'a, reading the Qur'an. Do not spend the night listening to lectures or recitations. Or do it only for a short while when you feel the sleep coming on!

13. Patience is the Key: The last 10 days might be tiring. You might still have work or school. This is the time to bear all that hardship, and keep firm sabr. Think how Allah has blessed you with this tremendous opportunity that might NEVER come again in your life again. If you knew for sure that this was your last Ramadan , if you knew certainly that Jannah was up for grabs, wouldn't you sprint for it no matter what it takes?

14. This is most important: Keep husn adh-dhann bi Allah (good expectations from Allah). When you ask, remember you are asking the Most Generous King. If you hope for the best, He will give you the best. Don't hold back. Trust in Him, pour out your heart in front of Him, and let no doubt, no barrier, no evil thoughts keep you away from ar-Rahman, ar-Raheem!

Allahumma ballighna laylatal qadr.. #ayeshashares

[ 🤲 Day 15 Du'a ]

“O Allah, write for me a reward with You because of it (the prostration), and remove from me a sin because of it, and stow it for me as a treasure with You, and accept it from me as You accepted it from Your servant David (Dawud), upon him be blessings and peace.”

Assalamua’laykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

Salam Ramadhan everyone. On this blessed month I would like to seek forgiveness from those who I have offended in a way or another. I would like to start Ramadhan with a clean heart and in a good state with Allah and His creations.

Ramadhan is the month The Quran was sent down. So inshaallah let us take this time to build our relationship with The Quran. Do ad much as you at your own pace, just start a little but be consistent. Don’t compare yourself to others as we all went through different struggles!

Personally, Ramadhan is the month I look forward to, I usually take this month to renew my spiritual journey for my own betterment. I pray for myself and all of you, may we all find the true meaning and understanding of Ramadhan as accordance to The Quran.

Set your intention right, made it solely for the sake of Allah so that we may attain Taqwa (God’s consciousness).

Rejoice this month once again, as we’re given a chance to repent from our sins. May this holy Ramadhan cleanse our soul and make us deserving for Allah’s blessings.

So, start the divine season of Ramadhan
with a heart filled with love and peace, may it enlighten you and clear your understanding and judgment between the right and wrong, between the truths and false, hoping and wishing that Allah forgive us for all our wrongdoings.

Ramadhan Mubarak my friends!

Love, Ayesha.
