Vitalik Buterin has warned that artificial intelligence could threaten cryptography within the next two years. As part of the Ethereum Lean strategy, he indicated a shift towards hashing-based signatures to address these potential vulnerabilities.

Buterin emphasized the importance for users to focus on addresses that have never conducted transactions and to employ off-chain multisignature solutions where possible. He also cautioned against hastily migrating assets in response to these emerging risks.
