💗 Career tip: when a Web3 role says “strategic and hands-on,” find out which side actually dominates.
That phrase can mean very different jobs.
It might mean:
• you set direction but still execute some of the work yourself
• you manage a small team but still own key deliverables
• there is no team yet, so “strategic” actually means “build the plan and then do almost all of it”
• the company wants a senior person but still expects junior-level execution volume
Before applying or accepting, ask something concrete:
“Roughly how much of this role is setting direction vs doing the work directly?”
And then:
“What would I personally own every week?”
Those two questions can tell you more than the title.
“Strategic and hands-on” can be a great role.
You just want to know what the balance actually looks like before you step into it.
