Block All Google (Route all Google IP ranges to localhost {IPv4 only})

This BASH (Linux) script aims to simplify the process of cutting Google out of your digital life, whether you're hardcore about your privacy or just curious if you can live without Google!

Be warned, running this will block all Google services - GMail, YouTube, Google Play, ads, tracking and so on, both the good and the bad. It's worth noting that any sites that depend on Google to serve their content most likely will break, or at a minimum not function properly.

It works by adding all the downloaded Google IP ranges to the routing table, which get routed to localhost and thus stays local to your machine and doesn't reach any Google servers.

This script so far has only been tested on Ubuntu 18.04. To be safe, unless you know what you're doing it's not recommended to run this on your primary computer that you need!

AiCamera (Camera that simulates depth of field using a neural network)

This is a camera app for Android that automatically recognises the pixel location of people, cats or dogs in the camera view and blurs the background simulating depth of field. It can also gray out the background leaving only the recognised object in colour. The app uses a convolutional neural network to perform the detection.

A TensorFlow implementation of the neural network can be found here. It was trained on a dataset of images consisting of people, cats and dogs and the trained model then exported as a protobuf file which contains the graph definition and the trained weights.

Nebulo - Dns over HTTPS/TLS (A DNS changer which encrypts your queries.)

When navigating to a website known by it's name, say example.com, your device ask specific servers - DNS servers - how to address the website. DNS is an old protocol which, except for smaller changes, hasn't been touched since its creation in 1987. Naturally the Internet changed a lot in this time, rendering the protocol outdated in some of its core aspects.

This app tackles one of the bigger problems with DNS: Encryption. Whilst nearly all traffic on the Internet is encrypted now, DNS requests (i.e. questions for a names address) and the response aren't. This enables attackers to intercept, read and modify your requests.

Nebulo implements DNS-over-HTTPs and DNS-over-TLS to safely send your DNS requests to the target server. This way only you and the DNS server are able to read the requests you are sending.

Core features: - Configure the app once and then forget about it. After initial configuration it works fully autonomous - No ads and no tracking - Custom servers can be used - Low battery consumption.

The app is distributed over the play store, F-Droid and as .apk file.

DNS66 (Ad- and Host Blocking via DNS)

DNS66 allows blocking host names via DNS. This can be used for ad blocking. It also allows other DNS servers to be added, for more privacy.

Compared to AdBlock Plus, this works without proxy stuff; and it also does not require root, like AdAway does: DNS66 establishes a VPN interface, and redirects DNS server traffic to it. The VPN interface filters the traffic, only allowing queries for hosts that are not blacklisted.

A host (list) can be configured as allow, deny, or ignore. A later entry in the list overrides a previous entry.

Custom DNS Servers can be configured as well, using the same UI, but no differentiation is made between ignored and denied servers.

Some minor usability issues:

If you change a setting, you must manually restart the vpn service (issue #3)
IPv6 servers are not supported (issue #4)
