🌍 We’re thrilled to share that Lava Show just returned from an incredible debut at the World Travel Market (WTM) in London – what a fantastic experience!

Representing us at WTM was our very own Lady Lava, Ragnhildur Ágústsdóttir, who joined the Visit Iceland booth to connect with travel companies and share the magic of Iceland with the world. The response was phenomenal! 🚀

From introducing visitors to the awe-inspiring Lava Show experience and showcasing our unique jewelry and lava pieces, to connecting with others passionate about travel and adventure, Lady Lava embodied the spirit of Iceland throughout the event. 🌋🇮🇸

One of the highlights was the camaraderie among the Icelandic group. After hours, the Icelanders came together, where a particular guitar and great company created some truly unforgettable moments. 🎸✨🎶

Whileese questions and answers are still relevant, little did we knowat two days latere earthquake swarm would peak when a 15 km long magma intrusion formed right undere town of Grindavík.

Luckily,at did not lead to an eruptionere anden but it did result ine evacuation ofe entire town of Grindavík - and now, a year later, most people from Grindavík have relocated and it remains uncertain ifey’ll ever be able to permanently return.

So a year ago wase first big step ine eventsat have unfolded sinceen, withe first eruption ine Svartsengi volcanic system at Sunhnúksgígar on December 18, 2023 and sinceen,ere have been six eruptions and we are currently expectinge 7th eruption to take place ine next few weeks.

Áhöfnin á varðskipinu Freyju hefur að undanförnu annast eftirlit á síldarmiðum austur af landinu. Þar hafa nokkur færeysk síldveiðiskip verið að veiðum. Lögum samkvæmt sinnir Landhelgisgæslan öflugu eftirliti með erlendum fiskiskipum innan efnahagslögsögunnar í samstarfi við Fiskistofu og sjávarútvegsráðuneytið.

Eftirlitið fer þannig fram að áhöfnin á varðskipinu fer um borð í skipin og kannar aflasamsetningu og framkvæmir tegundagreiningu á aflanum.

Meðfylgjandi myndband gefur fróðlega innsýn inn í hvernig eftirlit sem þetta fer fram hjá áhöfnum Landhelgisgæslunnar.
