🇩🇪 VIKTOR LUTZE
December 1890 – May 1943
Viktor Lutze was born on December 28, 1890, in Bevergern, Germany. He served in the German Army during World War I and was awarded the Iron Cross for his service. After the war, he joined the National Socialist German Workers’ Party (NSDAP) and became a prominent member of the Sturmabteilung (SA). Lutze played a key role in organizing the SA in the Hanover and Braunschweig regions.
In 1934, following the Night of the Long Knives, Lutze was appointed Chief of the SA, succeeding Ernst Röhm. Under his leadership, the SA’s role was significantly reduced as it lost much of its political influence to other NS organizations.
Lutze died on May 2, 1943, from injuries sustained in a car accident near Potsdam. He was buried with a state funeral, reflecting his high-ranking position within the NS regime.
