And I'm Not The Same.

I guess it's true pain does change you. It shapes you and moulds you into a person you no longer recognise within the reflection of the mirror. All of a sudden you're not sharing too much, trusting too much, you're not allowing them to have control over your emotions. I used to be convinced everyone is a nice person. I'd spend hours trying to figure out their intentions and now, I wish I can get each hour I spent on them back. I used to think that no matter how broken an individual is, no matter how destructive they are, there's a reason they are like that and now I don't. I've come to understand people choose who and what they want to be and there's no justification for such a thing. I've come to understand that the people you love and look up to are just as flawed and the friends you think highly of are merely worth absolutely nothing. I no longer hurt people or cry for them, for people are only ambitious to tear your heart up as a means of reaching their own selfish desires...I am not heartless and emotionally unavailable. But pain changes you and shapes you into a person you didn't know you could be... And I'm Not the same. Yes, I still find myself to be funny, bubbly, reacting on impulse, confident and loud but sometimes that's just an act of trying to escape my past.
