✈️ Telegram Mini Apps now accept payments in Stars
💡 Since June 12th, there has been increasing news that various Mini Apps now allow purchases with Telegram Stars. A reminder: Stars is the internal currency recently introduced in Telegram to comply with Apple and Google's requirements for digital service payments.
⚫️ Currently, Telegram doesn't have a separate menu for buying Stars, but you can already purchase the currency by visiting one of the popular Mini Apps where payments were previously made in TON, and try buying some items.
⚫️ For instance, we chose the P2E game Gatto: we launch the app, go to the store, and see the prices in Stars. We confirm the purchase and are redirected to a window with our personal balance, where we can buy sets of 50 to 2500 stars with national currency.
⚫️ It was announced that Stars could be exchanged for TON on the Fragment platform, where anonymous numbers, usernames, and Telegram Premium are sold. Currently, there's no section for selling Stars on the site, but we hope that soon it will be possible not only to withdraw Stars but also to purchase them for TON. For regular users, the menu for buying Stars should appear next to the Telegram Premium tab, as well as in the @PremiumBot.
⚫️ On one hand, dedicated TON users might negatively receive this new feature since most Mini Apps previously accepted payment in Toncoin. On the other, it's generally more convenient for ordinary people to buy Stars with a credit card in just a few clicks, rather than dealing with TON wallets and P2P. Either way, the innovation carries both pros and cons in terms of mass adoption. What are your thoughts on this?
