“Online enticement has become a popular way for predators to groom and recruit a child into human trafficking. ▫️Putnam County Sheriff’s Office: ‘Cesspool of sex offenders’ cleared out of local trailer park
PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. — A “cesspool of sex offenders” was cleared out of a Palatka trailer park on Friday afternoon, according to Putnam County Sheriff Gator DeLoach.
On a Facebook Live, DeLoach said more than 22 convicted predators and sex offenders living in the area were cleared out. The trailer park, located at 3600 Balsam Street, was turned into what DeLoach referred to as a “predator’s paradise.” 23 registered offenders and predators have this location listed as their address, according to Florida’s Sexual Offenders and Predators Search.
“Not in Putnam County and over my dead body are we ever going to let Putnam County become a sanctuary for these kinds of individuals,” DeLoach said.

▫️Child sex abuse lawsuits naming NYC doctor pour in ahead of deadline
NEW YORK CITY – Over 60 people have used a soon-expiring New York City law to allege they were sexually abused as children by Dr. Reginald Archibald, adding to a mountain of accusations against the late doctor.
Six lawsuits were filed in New York City in February using a 2022 New York City amendment to the Gender-Motivated Violence Act that briefly lifted the nine-year filing window for cases involving sexual violence, domestic violence, human trafficking and more.

John Matthew Timmerman of Rochester appeared in court Thursday, Feb. 27, on 13 charges related to online solicitation and sexual exploitation of children.
Timmerman faces the following felony charges: 3 counts of electronic communication relating to or describing sexual contact with a child; 2 counts of possession of child pornography; 2 counts of possession of child pornography–minor under 14; 1 counts of disseminating child pornography–minor under 14; 2 counts of use of a minor in a sexual performance or pornographic work; 2 counts of use of a minor in a sexual performance or pornographic work–child under 14; and 1 count of child solicitation.
He is held at the Olmsted County ADC on $150,000 bail with conditions or $750,000 bail with no conditions.

▫️Orange County DA: New Windsor man pleads guilty to sexual assault of 2 children
A New Windsor man has pled guilty to sexually assaulting two children under the age of 11, according to the Orange County district attorney.
Prosecutors say Kevin Cholula, 31, admitted to assaulting the victims between July 2020 and October 2023. He faces up to 20 years in prison and will have to register as a sex offender.

ROCHESTER, Minn. – A Byron man has been sentenced on three child pornography charges.
James Ryan Savells, 40, pleaded guilty to two counts of disseminating pornographic work featuring a minor under 14 and one count of possession of pornographic work featuring a minor under 14.
Savells was arrested after the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office said it received several tips about suspected child sex abuse material from three online companies. The tips alleged that 27 child porn videos had been sent to other people between July 7 and August 1 in 2022.

▫️Northern California deputies make major trafficking bust; alleged pimp arrested
A man accused of at least 13 felony offenses including human-trafficking-related charges was arrested in Northern California Thursday night.
Around 10;30 p.m., the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation near the 4600 block of Fruitridge Road in Sacramento. After running the driver’s name, deputies discovered that Alfred Walker had an arrest warrant for domestic violence.
Further investigation of Walker revealed that he was also wanted by law enforcement for alleged human trafficking, torture with intent to cause cruel or extreme pain, and at least 10 other felony crimes. Walker was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Jail. He is not eligible for bail.

MANCHESTER — Town officials say they have received allegations of sexual misconduct involving at least one student from the Manchester school system regarding a former school resource officer who was facing charges of enticing a minor online in December before he died by suicide. They also said they have received "information" that the late police officer may have had more victims who were students in the system.
Manchester police Sgt. Ryan Moan, 33, of Coventry, was found dead near Bolton Lake Dec. 6, just hours after he was charged with enticing a minor by computer, impairing the morals of a minor, misrepresentation of age to entice a minor and tampering with physical evidence. Police said those charges were not related to Moan's role as school resource officer.

▫️Southern Colorado individual charged with aggravated incest after pleading guilty to other sex crimes
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Bryan "Athena" Borenstein is facing new charges of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust and aggravated incest. This comes after Borenstein just entered a guilty plea to one count of Internet Sexual Exploitation of a Child on Feb. 3.
An arrest affidavit obtained by KRDO13 Investigates detailed what led to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office leveling these charges. The allegations are very graphic involving children as young as 10 years old. Last year, Borenstein and Joanna Ferguson made headlines when "Colorado Ped Patrol" came knocking on their door.
The organization, which seeks to bring pedophiles to justice, posed as a 13-year-old girl. Borenstein and Ferguson were allegedly messaging the fake girl. During a recorded confrontation by Ped Patrol, Borenstein allegedly admitted to paying $750 in Bitcoin to purchase two 12-year-olds and a 13-year-old a previous time.

A man being sought as the Amarillo Crime Stoppers' fugitive of the week is also believed to be involved in a case of a child reported missing out of Oklahoma.
The Amarillo Police Department said Aurelio Ezequiel Cardenas, a Hispanic male, age 27, is about 5 feet, 9 inches in height and weighs 145 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. Cardenas is wanted by the sheriff's office on sex offender's duty to register.

A man wanted in Ohio for sexual allegations involving a minor was arrested in Connecticut on Thursday. Jhonny Sajamarca, 35, was identified at the Adult Probation Office in Bridgeport.
Connecticut State Police confirmed he had an extraditable warrant from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office in Ohio. The warrant is related to charges of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.

▫️Chesapeake sailor pleads guilty to attempted coercion, enticement of minor
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — A Chesapeake man pled guilty to attempted coercion and enticement of a child in court on Friday.
Court documents found Kyle Babiak, 31, began communicating through social media with an undercover law enforcement officer whom Babiak believed to be a 14-year-old girl. Babiak, at the time an active duty sailor, sent a photo of himself in what appeared to be a Navy uniform, and asked the girl to send a photo of herself in return. He also suggested they could do things in person together, and again acknowledged that he believed he was talking with a minor. He continued to escalate the sexual content of his messages, including describing sexual acts he desired with the girl, and sending sexually explicit photos of himself.

▫️Siler City police and SBI collaboration leads to rescue of abducted 15-year-old girl & two arrested
Tuesday Feb. 25, the Siler City Police Department worked with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) regarding a missing juvenile. An investigation was started by the SBI Criminal Apprehension Team (CAT) and the Computer Crimes Unit. CAT agents were able to learn, through electronic and other surveillance techniques, that the victim had been abducted, authorities say.
Two suspects were identified. CAT assets were deployed to the cities of Asheboro and Kinston. Ronny Suarez and the 15-year-old female victim were located at a residence on W. Strider Street in Asheboro. The second suspect, Saul Ramirez Guvara, was located at the Quality Inn in Kinston, authorities say.
Both Suarez and Guvara were taken into custody and receive the following charges on top of several other charges: First Degree Kidnapping, Human Trafficking of a Child Victim & Solicit Child by Computer

▫️Police kill suspect in Platte County shootings, child abduction
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A man suspected of killing two people, injuring another and abducting a child was shot and killed by police Friday morning in Platte County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The suspect allegedly took a 5-year-old girl from the home and fled the area.
George Clyde Manning III, 43, was shot and killed by police in the area of NW Vivion Road and NW Waukomis Drive at about 7:30 a.m. According to MSHP, officers searching for the suspect saw him walking with a handgun. Officers then shot at the suspect and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A prominent gay politician who was arrested for possession and distribution of child pornography last fall has committed suicide after having admitted to the charges. Mikkel Eskil Mikkelsen, a former member of the Sámi Parliament, was arrested in November for acquiring images of children being sexually assaulted, and had led the Norwegian Sametinget’s work on gender identity reform.
Mikkelsen was arrested on November 4 by police and charged with having shared and acquired material showing sexual abuse of children. Mikkelsen admitted to the charges in the local court for Salten and Lofoten in Nordland, Northern Norway, and was facing a prison sentence of up to one year.

Two teenage girls were rescued by the police from Gadhigaun, Chaubise Rural Municipality-3, in Dhankuta, where they had been held captive for three days. The rescue operation took place on Saturday morning, with the 14-year-olds, both from Uralbari in Morang, found locked inside a house in the area.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Omprakash Khanal, the girls had been held captive at the house Sanish Yakkha. “They had been confined for three days, and the police successfully rescued them,” Khanal said.

An Italian national is scheduled to appear before Perth Magistrates Court today (28 February, 2025) to face further charges relating to allegations he engaged in sexual activity online with a child in Indonesia.

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Tyree Eugene Rideaux, 31, of Henderson, Nevada, was sentenced on Tuesday by United States District Judge Diane J. Humetewa to 132 months in prison, followed by 15 years of supervised release. Rideaux pleaded guilty to Sex Trafficking of a Minor on September 16, 2024.
Rideaux met the 16-year-old minor, Jane Doe, at a party in Phoenix a short time before August 15, 2021. Jane Doe traveled with Rideaux and two other females to Inglewood, California. Rideaux told Jane Doe to pretend that she was 18 years old. Once in California, Rideaux placed Jane Doe on the “blade,” an area in a city known for high rates of prostitution. Rideaux assigned a fictitious name to Jane Doe and posted commercial sex advertisements of her online for sex buyers. Jane Doe gave the money she earned to Rideaux, as he directed her to do. On August 15, 2021, Jane Doe convinced a sex buyer to take her to a hospital where she could notify police and family, who returned her home.

A Miami husband and wife are accused of molesting and sexually battering a 13-year-old girl who they met at church, police said.
Edwin Erasmo Vasquez Vasquez, 50, and Yulian Jaqueline Garcia Castro, 39, fled Miami but were arrested in Lehigh Acres on Wednesday on sexual battery, lewd and lascivious molestation and lewd and lascivious conduct, Miami Police officials said.
The investigation began in November after the teen and her parents met with police, though the alleged incidents occurred between July and December of 2023, an arrest report said. Both face multiple counts of sexual battery on a minor, lewd and lascivious molestation on a minor and lewd and lascivious conduct on a minor.
The Miami Police Department is asking that anyone with information about this case or other cases relating to child sexual abuse contacts their Special Victims Unit at 305-603-6300.

Bradley Loggins was convicted in December on five counts of sex abuse to children under age 12, one count of first-degree sodomy, and one count of first-degree sex abuse by force. Almost three months later, Loggins is set to serve over 200 years in prison consecutively, receiving the maximum penalty of all seven counts. “You will not sexually abuse a child here in Limestone County and get away with it. You will not get a light sentence,” said prosecutor Kristen Clemmons. “There will be consequences to doing that, and the sentence Bradley Loggins received today reflects the gravity of that.”

BILLINGS, Mont. – Billings Police Department officers were involved in a pursuit this afternoon, starting near Senior High and extending across the West End. BPD Officers were investigating a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) violation and a potential kidnapping prior to the pursuit.
The suspect's vehicle was stopped at Lewis and 30th Street West, where the suspect was taken into custody. An 8-year-old girl was safely removed from the vehicle. JEMISON, Ala. — A human trafficking suspect is in jail after running from deputies in Chilton County, according to the sheriff's office.
On Sunday, deputies responded to a welfare check in the unincorporated area of Jemison. When they arrived, a woman told them that she had been forced into prostitution by her boyfriend. The case was handed over to the Chilton County Special Operations Unit. After an investigation, deputies obtained warrants for Juan Carlos Marciel-Dominguez on human trafficking charges.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Anchorage police have released new details about an officer-involved shooting that happened inside a midtown hotel room last week that left a suspect dead and five hostages free.

They found the suspect between two beds in the room holding the woman on top of him. AFTON — A local investigation by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force culminated in a significant international operation, resulting in the arrest of five suspects in the Philippines and the rescue of nine children from a horrific situation.
The case began with two cyber tips reported by Facebook to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The ensuing investigation revealed that Kelly Jasperson, 63, of Osmond had been involved in paying thousands of dollars to women in the Philippines for the production of child pornography over an extended period of time.
