📬 What happened yesterday?

Lebanon

• Israeli forces bombed areas in Bani Hayyan, Taloussa, Aitroun, and between Kfarkila and Taybeh, while targeting homes in Bint Jbeil and Taybeh, South Lebanon.

• Israeli forces demolished a mosque in Wadi al-Slouqi near Majdal Selm, before withdrawing to Markaba and combing the western outskirts of Mais al-Jabal, South Lebanon.

• An Israeli drone dropped a sound grenade near a Lebanese Army post in Bint Jbeil, South Lebanon.

• PM Nawaf Salam: "I have not committed to assigning any specific ministry to any parliamentary bloc."

• The Lebanese Army's Intelligence Directorate arrested a top suspect in collaboration with "Israel" in the central Bekaa region, identified as A.H.

• Sheikh Mohammad Hamadi, head of Hezbollah’s Western Bekaa region, succumbed to gunshot injuries. Sources indicate the incident may have been motivated by a family dispute.

Syria

• EU is considering suspending sanctions on Syria with a "gradual approach" while maintaining some leverage. Sanctions include bans on Syrian oil imports, investment in the oil industry, and freezing assets of the Syrian Central Bank within the EU.

• Two French judges issued an arrest warrant yesterday for former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on suspicion of complicity in war crimes.

Palestine

• Israeli Army launched the Iron Wall operation in Jenin, occupied West Bank.

• 10 martyrs and around 40 injuries so far due to the Israeli occupation's aggression on Jenin. (Palestinian Health Ministry)

• 21 injuries reported from beatings and gas inhalation during an attack on Al-Funduq and JinSafut, east of Qalqilya. (Palestinian Red Crescent)

• Resistance fighters attacked Israeli military vehicles with IEDs at Silat al-Harithiya town entrance, west of Jenin. (Palestinian media)

• Palestinian Authority forces, stationed at Jenin camp entrances for over a month, withdrew as the Israeli operation began, after pursuing wounded resistance fighters in the government hospital for arrest. (Palestinian media)

• UN: 897 aid trucks entered Gaza today.

Israeli Occupation Entity

• Israeli Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi submitted his resignation to the Defense Minister. It will take effect in March. (Israeli media)

• A series of resignations in the Israeli military leadership. (Israeli Channel 13)

• Israeli opposition leader urges government resignation after chief of staff resigns.

• Several Israeli soldiers injured in an IED explosion in Jenin. (Israeli Media)

• A stabbing attack in Tel Aviv resulted in four injuries. (Israeli media)

• US President Donald Trump revoked an executive order by Joe Biden imposing sanctions on settlers involved in West Bank violence, affecting 60,000 settlers with US citizenship.

"The US and UN have given Israel free reign to methodically kill the population of northern Gaza Palestinians. This is a genocide within a genocide.

...In early October, Palestinian cameraman Fadi al-Wahidi was shot in his neck by an Israeli quadcopter, leaving him paralyzed.

Aside from al Jazeera, for which Fadi worked, most Western media and journalist projection organizations are unsurprisingly not reporting on Fadi being targeted by Israel.

Reporters Without Borders, which I previously wrote about for its downplaying the number of Palestinian journalists killed by Israel, has no entry on Fadi.

The Committee to Protect Journalists, at least, does. Its entry notes:

“Al Wahidi was critically injured in the neck by a bullet fired from an Israeli reconnaissance aircraft while Al Wahidi and correspondent Anas Al-Sharif were covering an Israeli siege on northern Gaza’s Jabalia refugee camp. Both men were wearing “Press” vests and clearly identifiable as journalists.”

Anas al-Sharif—who continues to courageously report from northern Gaza—told CJP they’d been in an area “completely far from the areas of operations of the Israeli occupation forces,” and full of residents when, “an Israeli reconnaissance drone fired at us.

After the shooting, we tried to move to another safer place and hide from any danger, but a bullet from the plane hit our colleague Fadi Al-Wahidi in the neck, which led to his complete paralysis.”

Wahidi has since fallen into a coma. His colleagues and friends are pleading for some sort of international intervention to allow him to be taken abroad for medical care, to save his life...

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported, citing the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate (PJS), that (between 7 October 2023 and 10 October 2024) 168 Palestinian journalists and media workers have been killed in the Gaza Strip, including 17 women, 360 were injured, and 60 were detained (taken hostage).

Al Mayadeen updated on November 2 that the number of Palestinian journalists killed in Gaza is now 183...

Like Anas al-Sharif, Palestinian journalist Hossam Shabat courageously reports apocalyptic scenes of Israeli bombarding in northern Gaza.

In a live update on X recently, he said:

“We are witnessing genocide and ethnic cleansing in northern Gaza, specifically in Jabalia, which is under siege from all directions. Israeli occupation forces are bombing displaced civilians, detaining them, and attempting to ethnically cleanse them. They are targeting shelters for displaced civilians, and bodies are scattered everywhere in the north, along the roads. Thousands of civilians are being forcefully displaced (ethnically cleansed) from the north.”

...Israel seems hell-bent on implementing former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s ‘Five Fingers’ project, which envisioned carving Gaza into segments, all under Israeli security control.

If this is Israel’s intent, we will see block by block Israel repeating its extermination campaign of northern Gaza all over the rest of the already brutalized Strip."

BREAKING Former IDF Chief Halevi announces his resignation, acknowledging Oct 7 was a failure.

“No one hid information or knew what was about to happen…beyond being untrue, these statements harm the loyal servicemen and women who have done and continue to do for the security of the state and deeply understand their responsibility in light of the results.”

Some members of the Israeli government also used the opportunity to call for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and members of his government to follow Halevi’s lead and resign for the same reasons of failing in their mission against Hamas.

TRUMP PLACES CUBA AS STATE SPONSOR OF TERROR (AGAIN)

On his first day in office, President Trump predictably reinstated Cuba’s designation as a state sponsor of terrorism, reversing an executive order issued by former President Biden, who had planned to lift the designation as part of a Vatican-brokered deal to free political prisoners in Cuba.

Following the announcement, Cuban authorities began releasing detainees, including some arrested during the 2021 protests over economic hardships and government policies.

Cuba’s President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez said:

“President Trump, in an act of arrogance and disregard for the truth, has just reinstated the fraudulent designation of Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism. This is not surprising. His goal is to continue strengthening the cruel economic war against Cuba for the purpose of domination. The result of the extreme economic siege measures imposed by Trump has been to cause shortages among our people and a significant increase in the migratory flow from #Cuba to the United States. This act of mockery and abuse confirms the discredit of the lists and unilateral mechanisms of coercion of the US government. The legitimate and noble cause of our people will prevail and will once again win.”


I told y’all Biden did it knowing Trump would bring it back. But orgs like PSL just had to pat themselves on the back instead of telling you the truth. One goes and the other continues the foreign policy. Those cheering for Trump or Biden are entirely part of the problem. The face of empire may change but it’s still the empire.

Child beheader appointed as advisor to Joolani.

Worth noting that MI6 White Helmets HQ was less than 200 meters from the square in Aleppo where this gruesome child beheading took place. The Al Qaeda "humanitarians" didn't intervene though.

My article covering this here.

The first important point to be made about the location of the White Helmet centre is its proximity to Al Mashad Square, just 200 metres from the Al-Insari centre. It was in this square that the extremist group, Nour Al Din Zenki, publicly tortured and beheaded 12 year old Palestinian child, Abdullah Issa in July 2016. Issa begged his torturers to shoot him, but he was decapitated and his head was held aloft by his executioner standing on the back of a pick-up truck.

Hasan Kattan who raced to feed the photographs & video of Omran Daqneesh to Western media, did not seem so eager to produce images or video footage of the murder of Abdullah Issa commited one month prior to the incident involving Omran. One can only conclude that Kattan was not keen to portray the White Helmet neighbours as de facto terrorists committing atrocities against the Syrian people under their control. That would raise all sorts of awkward questions and speculation as to why the White Helmets would permit such crimes to be carried out on their watch & in their neighbourhood.
