The Air Force finally handed over a trove of documents pertaining to its sweeping “goal” of reducing the number of white male applicants in a popular officer program after spending months stonewalling requests for their release.

Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman C.Q. Brown — at the time the highest-ranking member of the Air Force — issued a memorandum in 2022 that the branch was updating its racial and gender demographic goals for applicants seeking to become officers, in a bid to prioritize “diversity and inclusion.” Internal documents obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation include a slideshow from 2022 where the Air Force outlines racial and gender quotas and details how it hopes to “achieve” a reduced number of white males in its Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) officer’s applicant program.

The documents reflect the Biden-Harris Pentagon’s intense focus on implementing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies in the armed forces, even as the military continues to combat dwindling morale among its rank-and-file, recruiting and retention shortfalls and low pay.

Former Border Patrol chief says Biden-Harris admin muzzled him over suspected terrorist arrests

Former San Diego Sector Border Patrol Chief Aaron Heitke told a House committee that the Biden-Harris administration prevented him from releasing information about the amount of suspected terrorists encountered at the border.

"I was told I could not release any information on this increase in SIAs [Special Interest Aliens] or mention any of the arrests. The administration was trying convince the public there was no threat at the border," Heike said at a House Committee on Homeland Security hearing entitled, “A Country Without Borders: How Biden-Harris’ Open-Borders Policies Have Undermined Our Safety and Security.”

Rep. Clay Higgins, R-La., chairman of the subcommittee on Border Security and Enforcement, said the Biden-Harris administration has presided over a "self-inflicted border crisis" and the country faces a "threat to the homeland from within the homeland."

House Assassination Attempt task force member Rep. Mike Waltz says there are many things the U.S. Secret Service can do to open up more resources to provide details to protectees most at risk.

At the top of the list is cutting back 99-year-old former President Jimmy Carter's protective detail.

It comes as Congress weighs appropriating more funds to the USSS in the wake of two separate assassination attempts against Donald Trump and an increased scrutiny on the agency.

Rep. Waltz proposed three quick things he thinks can be done to better allocate resources rather than just pumping more money into the agency.

The first two, he said on X, is to 'fix the broken protocols' and 'hold leadership accountable for failures.'

The latter is something Republicans have demanded ever since Trump was shot at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13 – and the pressure led to Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigning in the wake of the attack.

NBC🤔: While President Joe Biden’s primary residence is still the White House for another few months, he plans to host world leaders at another home this weekend: his house in Wilmington, Del.

Biden will hold bilateral meetings with the heads of Australia, India and Japan there for his final “Quad” summit, an alliance he decided to elevate during his first year in office. NBC News is the first to report that he will host those meetings at his Delaware home.

The president specifically wanted to incorporate “personal touches” to the two-day event, emphasizing the importance of “deep personal relationships” as central to his foreign policy approach, according to a senior White House official.

During both group discussions and individual conversations this weekend, Biden will likely proudly showcase his home, known by aides as “Lake House” because of the manmade lake on its grounds. He expects to share with them significant milestone moments during his career that have been marked there, including where he learned four years ago he had been elected president.

The US has deployed more than 130 soldiers, mobile rocket launchers, and radar capabilities to a remote Alaskan island, amid increased Russian military activity in the region.

The Coast Guard said it located four Russian Federation Navy vessels, including two submarines, 57 miles off the coast of Alaska on Sunday.

In the past week, officials have also detected four separate incursions of Russian military aircraft into the Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ), an area beyond US airspace where aircraft are nonetheless expected to identify themselves.

“The Indo-Pacific represents more than 50 percent of the world’s population, and some of the most diverse environments on Earth,” the U.S. Army 11th Airborn Division wrote on Facebook on Sunday, sharing photos of soldiers, mobile rocket launchers, and transport planes being used in the deployment.

An Alaska man has been charged with threatening to torture and murder six Supreme Court justices — including two of the high court’s best-known conservatives — as well as their relatives, the Justice Department revealed Thursday.

Panos Anastasiou, 76, was nabbed Wednesday in Anchorage and is facing 22 federal charges stemming from 465 alarming messages he sent via the Supreme Court’s website between March 10 and July 16, prosecutors say.

The justices are not identified in the indictment, but details about Anastasiou’s messages indicate he targeted Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas.

In one alleged message, sent May 17, Anastasiou said he wanted to drive by a justice’s house with fellow Vietnam War veterans and spray the property with AR-15 gunfire.

“Hopefully N—– [Supreme Court Justice 1] and his white trailer trash n—– loving wife insurrectionist wife are visiting,” he wrote, according to the indictment.

☢️A close ally of President Vladimir Putin warned Western governments on Thursday that a nuclear war would ensue if they gave the green light for Ukraine to use long-range Western weapons to strike targets deep inside Russia.

Vyacheslav Volodin, speaker of the lower house of parliament and a member of Putin's Security Council, was responding to a vote in the European Parliament urging EU countries to give such approval to Kyiv.

"What the European Parliament is calling for leads to a world war using nuclear weapons," Volodin wrote on Telegram.

His message was entitled "For those who didn't get it the first time" - an apparent reference to a warning by Putin last week that the West would be directly fighting Russia if it let Ukraine fire the long-range missiles onto Russian territory.

The Ukraine war has triggered the biggest confrontation between Russia and the West since the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis, which is considered to be the time when the two Cold War superpowers came closest to intentional nuclear war.

Earth will get a second moon for about two months this year when a small asteroid begins to orbit our planet. The asteroid was discovered in August and is set to become a mini-moon, revolving around Earth in a horseshoe shape from Sept. 29 to Nov. 25.

Researchers at the Asteroid Terrestrial-impact Last Alert System, an asteroid monitoring system funded by NASA, spotted the asteroid using an instrument in Sutherland, South Africa and labeled it 2024 PT5.

Scientists from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid have tracked the asteroid's orbit for 21 days and determined its future path. 2024 PT5 is from the Arjuna asteroid belt, which orbits the sun, according to their study published in Research Notes of the AAs.

But Earth's gravitational pull will draw 2024 PT5 towards it and, much like our moon, it will orbit our planet – but only for 56.6 days
