What should be done if Eid coincides with Friday


If the day of Eid coincides with Friday, then whoever prays Eid with the imaam does not have to attend Jumu’ah (it is not obligatory on him); in his case it becomes Sunnah. If he does not pray Jumu’ah, he has to pray Zuhr. This is in the case of people other than the imaam. As for the imaam, he has to be present for Jumu’ah and lead those Muslims who attend the prayer. The Jumu’ah prayer should not be forsaken completely on this day.

Dua on Friday

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

The Prophet SALLALLAHU ALAYHI WA SALLAM said: “There is such an hour on Friday that if any Muslim makes dua in it, his dua will definitely be accepted”. [Bukhari]

Scholars have differed on when the time in which dua is accepted is.

Some say it is :

• Between the time when the Imam gets up for the khutba (sermon) and the completion of the Friday prayer.

• While the friday prayer is in progress.

• Just before Maghrib prayer.

• Between Asr and Maghrib prayers.

STERN WARNING AGAINST MISSING JUMU'AH.

It was narrated from Abdullah Bin 'Umar (RADHIYALLAAHU ANHU)and Abu Hurairah(RADHIYALLAAHU ANHU) that they heard Nabi SALLALLAHU ALAYHI WA SALLAM say,on the planks of his Minbar:

"People must cease neglecting Jumu'ah, or ALLAH (SUBHANAHU WA TA'ALAH) will put a seal over their hearts and they will truly be among the negligent."

*SAHIH MUSLIM VOLUME 2 hadith no 2002.*


*بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ*

Believers! When the call to prayer is made on the day of congregation (Jummah), hasten to the remembrance of ALLAH (SUBHANAHU WA TA'ALAH), & leave all worldly commerce: this is for your own good, if you but knew it. When the prayer is ended, disperse in the land & seek to obtain (something) of ALLAH (SUBHANAHU WA TA'ALAH)'S bounty; & remember ALLAH (SUBHANAHU WA TA'ALAH) much, so that you may prosper. *(Surah Jumuah 62, Verses 9 & 10)*

_Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik رضي الله عنه reported: The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said,_

“I wish I could meet my brothers.”

_The Sahabah رضي الله عنهم said, “Are we not your brothers?”_

The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “You are my companions, but my brothers are those who have faith in me although they never saw me.”

Today being the Blessed day of Friday, let us recite excessive salaat & salaam, make abundant duaa and recite Surah Kahf.
