🎥 US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller stated that “there is no justification for the rape of anyone” during a press briefing on Wednesday after footage surfaced of Israeli soldiers raping a Palestinian detainee at the Sde Teiman detention centre.
Miller was asked about the reactions of far-right Israeli politicians and lawmakers who attempted to justify the sexual abuse by Israeli soldiers, to which he responded, “There must be zero tolerance for sexual abuse of detainees.”
However, he refrained from calling for an independent investigation, stating that he “would have to look at what the specific investigation people are calling for and pass judgment on the merits.”
