Oops, let me tell you a little about her.
Her full name is 'Pamela Ama Adablah'.
Her parents call her 'Dela'. That's her pet name.
Her school mother is 'Alice Maa Efya Agorda'. She prefers to be called 'Mafia'. And she other hand usually calls her 'Ella'. The last three letters of her name 'Pam-ela'.
Most Girls in the school's Dormitory prefers to call Pamela by that name, only few of her mates and other males calls her by her full first name 'Pamela'.
And this is her story....
FLASHBACK🗒
Pamela was born in a suburb of Ho in the Volta Region.
She was raised by both parents.
Her Dad was a peasant farmer.
Her Mum sells gari on market days in the Ho market and helps her Dad in the farm during her off days.
She was the first born her parents and they've kept looking for a second one for the past 16 years but to no avail so they always protect and gives her whatever she desires.
Her Mum once said this when she showed her the little swell she found growing on her chest.
😟“Mummy, look.” Pamela said ignorantly showing the swell she found on her chest.
☺“My daughter is now growing to be a woman.” Pamela's Mum said while smiling and looking at the little swells on her chest.
🙂“Now the cane needs a rest, my mouth and tongue will now be the best tools to bring you up to the lady I see in you.” She added.
🙁“Mum! But why does some people call me 'yeevuvi' and some call me 'Ama dzetugbe'?” Pamela asked naively.
😚“Hmmm, my daughter, when you were born, you were as white as clay and very hairy. You had blue eyes rather than the brown we all had. Even your Aunties queried me about your source. But my child, it because you are very beautiful and as you grow your beauty advances.” Pamela's Mum breathed.
Even though they live in a less developed area, but Pamela had access to TV, Fridge and common home appliances through her father's hardwork on his farm and livestock keeping so she is always comfortable indoors.
She never missed a single prayer meeting during week days talkless of church service on Sundays.
Their family were the first to be seated each Sunday.
Her Dad was an elder in the local church and her Mum was the Women's organiser. she picked up their Christian ways and morals and was the assistant youth president in the youth ministry in no time.
Pamela never joked with her prayers and church service.
When her BECE results were out with the placement, her parents toiled to buy every single demand of the school.
The church paid almost half of her school fees due to her service to God.
EVE OF HER LEAVING FOR SCHOOL
Mum: Dela, are u done bathing and dressing up?
Pamela: Yes please (she answers from her room)
Dad: Daavi, don’t you think you've woken your daughter up too early, its 3 am?
Mum: Efo have you forgotten we planned to hold an hour prayer for our daughter before she leaves?
Dad: Ooh yeah sure. Let her join us now so we do that now. It skipped after all the stress yesterday.
Mum: Dela! We are waiting for you to come oooo.
Dela: Dada, I am almost done now. Ok here I am
(She joins them at the hall and the prayers began, lasting almost an hour)
Dad: Dela
Pamela: Papa
Dad: Dela can you hear me?
Pamela: Yes, papa
Dad: let me say this to you before we go. You are leaving our care for the first time to be alone. The people in the school you are going are not like we are. There are teachers who will lash you if you are misbehaving and not learning. There are seniors who will try to bully you and many more. However don’t worry at all because it is just a year and you will get to form ok and your discomfort will end as a first year. Just be respectful to everyone at school and do whatever you are told to do with clean heart.
Pamela: Thank you Papa I hear.
Mum: Nyornu kpor Fofo gblor wo kataa vor, your father has said it all. Make sure you don’t give in to those stubborn boys who won’t learn and be chasing poor girls around. If any guy is disturbing report that boy to a teacher immediately ok!
