Cocaine Paradise: Rabu de Peixe, a small fishing town in the Atlantic, once turned into a drug capital. It all started when a local fisherman found several tons of cocaine in neat briquettes on the shore - a drug cartel's yacht had sunk nearby.
Instead of handing over the find to the authorities, the residents organized a cocaine festival. Some people fried fish in coke, some added the powder to coffee instead of sugar, and the more creative citizens even marked the soccer field with it. Prices for the "fun stuff" plummeted: 20 euros for a beer mug of powder, and one guy even gave 300 grams in exchange for a phone charger.
The fun lasted for a month until it was shut down. But for many, the festival didn't end so cheerfully: the fishermen are still treating their addiction.
